Job Description

Overview

Responsible for planning, integration and execution oversight of a defined Monark-D construction scope, such as the Nuclear Island or Balance of Plant/Conventional Island. The Construction Manager is the single point of accountability for construction readiness, constructability, execution planning, field implementation and interface management across the assigned scope.

Working with Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Controls, Commissioning, construction partners and suppliers, the role aligns design deliverables, material availability, work packaging, site logistics and execution plans. During detailed design, the Construction Manager leads constructability reviews, construction planning, schedule development and risk identification. During execution, the role oversees field performance, safety, quality, productivity, schedule attainment and turnover readiness, acting as the Project Vice President’s representative and primary construction integrator for the assigned area.

Your role

  • Serve as construction lead for the assigned Nuclear Island or Balance of Plant scope.
  • Lead constructability reviews and ensure construction requirements are incorporated into detailed design.
  • Develop execution strategies, installation methodologies, work packaging plans and construction sequencing.
  • Support development and validation of the integrated project schedule and construction logic.
  • Coordinate Engineering, Supply Chain, logistics, Construction and Commissioning interfaces.
  • Identify risks, constraints and opportunities and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Verify readiness, including design maturity, material availability, workforce planning and site support.
  • Monitor safety, quality, productivity, cost and schedule performance.
  • Support turnover planning, testing, commissioning and system handover.
  • Manage relationships with construction contractors, suppliers and field supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear safety, quality assurance, regulatory and project-governance requirements.
  • Report scope performance, risks and readiness to project leadership.

About you

  • Degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, a skilled trade or a related discipline; equivalent senior field experience may be considered. Professional engineering, construction management, trade or project management credentials are preferred.
  • Typically, 10+ years of progressive experience delivering major construction scopes in nuclear, power generation, heavy industrial or complex infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with work packaging, mobilization, field supervision, sequencing, productivity, change control, cost and schedule performance, recovery planning, testing, turnover and commissioning.
  • Strong working knowledge of nuclear safety culture, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, configuration management, inspection and test planning, non-conformance management, records and turnover documentation.
  • Knowledge of the assigned plant area, including Nuclear Island safety-related and nuclear-quality installations or Balance of Plant civil works, utilities, buildings and conventional systems.
  • Previous accountability for a major plant area, construction package or portfolio of contracts, with demonstrated management of safety, quality, cost, schedule, risk and stakeholder relationships.
