Job Description

Overview

Come join us in reshaping the future with AtkinsRéalis. AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Project Manager to join our team based in Toronto, Ontario.

Reporting to the Project Director, the Project Manager will play a key role in driving the successful delivery of transmission, substation and distribution projects for major utility clients. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with diverse technical and cross-functional teams, stakeholders, contractors and large utility partners with overall accountability to drive successful project outcomes.

The Project Manager will manage activities across the full project lifecycle including budgeting, scheduling, engineering oversight, procurement support, construction coordination, quality, and safety. The ideal candidate brings a strong engineering foundation, proven leadership capabilities, and will be a motivated self‑starter who embraces the opportunity to work on a variety of projects concurrently.

Your role

  • Providing leadership, direction, and oversight to multidisciplinary project teams across all phases - from initiation and planning to execution and close‑out.
  • Managing the successful delivery of projects of varying size and complexity within the utilities sector.
  • Driving overall project performance, including scope, schedule, cost, risk, and change management, while ensuring compliance with quality and safety expectations.
  • Coordinating multi-disciplinary internal teams (engineering, quality, safety, commercial, etc.), subcontractors, and partners (internal/external) to meet delivery objectives.
  • Leading project cost and schedule development, including monthly progress tracking and forecasting activities and preparation of internal and client-facing reporting.
  • Supporting contract administration, proposal development, estimate creation and procurement activities related to services and materials.
  • Building and nurturing collaborative relationships with clients and key stakeholders, serving as a primary client contact where required.

About you

  • Proven previous experience as a Project Manager with a minimum of two to five years supporting engineering, utilities, construction, or infrastructure projects within the power or electrical utility sector or a comparable environment.
  • Post-secondary education in engineering, project management, construction management, or a related discipline - or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Electrical engineering degree is considered an asset.
  • Project Management accreditation (PMP) is considered an asset.
  • Experience within Transmission, Distribution and Substations, working with a major electrical utility, or working in an EPCM environment are strong assets.
  • A distinct results‑based orientation combined with strong communication, interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Knowledge of project management functions, including design/engineering, contract administration, procurement and commercial support are strong assets.
  • Understanding engineering principles, practices and the flow of design in project management.

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $104,000 - $143,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters such as skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
