Position: Manager, Financial Reporting
Location: Edmonton Corporate Office

Reports To: Director, Financial Reporting
Position Summary
The Manager, Financial Reporting is responsible for supporting the preparation and delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting for the organization. This role oversees key aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes, ensures compliance with IFRS, supports audit activities, and collaborates closely with business unit finance teams and corporate departments.
The ideal candidate is a technically strong accounting professional with proven financial reporting experience, leadership capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
- Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements and related supporting schedules.
- Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate the quarterly and annual close processes, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to reporting deadlines.
- Review and analyze account reconciliations, journal entries, and consolidation adjustments.
Consolidation & Systems
- Manage the corporate consolidation process and ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial information from operating entities.
- Support the maintenance and enhancement of financial reporting and consolidation systems.
- Assist with system improvements, process automation initiatives, and reporting efficiencies.
- Support the governance and integrity of financial data used in reporting and analysis.
Audit & Compliance
- Coordinate external audit and review engagements, including preparation of supporting documentation and responses to auditor inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and corporate governance requirements.
- Support the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
Leadership & Business Partnership
- Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to financial reporting team members.
- Partner with operational finance teams, treasury, tax, FP&A, and other stakeholders to resolve accounting and reporting matters.
- Collaborate on special projects, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic initiatives as required.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reporting quality and efficiency.
Qualifications
Education & Professional Designation
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation (or equivalent professional accounting designation) is required.
Experience
- 5-8+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial statement preparation.
- Experience working in a publicly traded company or large, multi-entity organization is preferred.
- Experience coordinating external audits and preparing technical accounting analyses.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience is considered an asset.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion or a similar ERP system preferred
- Experience with OneStream consolidation and reporting software is considered a strong asset.
- Familiarity with financial consolidations, intercompany eliminations, and multi-entity reporting environments.
