Position Overview

Are you passionate about industry-shaping platforms that are revolutionizing how businesses operate? Do you have a deep understanding of your industry and the potential for data to dismantle barriers, foster collaboration, and spark unprecedented innovation?

Autodesk invites the industry-savvy and forward-thinking to join our Platform Services Product Data team as a Senior Product Manager for Interoperability. Here, you’ll play a key role in redefining the intersection of design and technology across industries.

We’re searching for an insightful, data-savvy, and strategic visionary who can bring a strong industry perspective to how we bring Interoperability-focused products to market. Autodesk’s Design and Make Data Platform offerings are more than APIs, SDKs, and services. They are the lifeblood of a thriving ecosystem and marketplace that propels digital transformation and fuels innovation, and we are building the core part of that foundation. It is the platform that makes design data portable across Autodesk products, third-party tools, and cloud collaboration environments, across both AEC and manufacturing workflows.

In this role, you’ll join an elite team of product managers. You will build strong relationships and work closely with a diverse array of stakeholders: your customers, development teams across Autodesk, other Autodesk Platform Services teams, and marketing and customer advocacy groups. Your industry perspective will be instrumental in defining how data is accessed, translated, and exchanged across the boundaries of teams, companies, and applications, providing the essential infrastructure for Autodesk’s future products. You’ll own the strategy and the business case for our interoperability framework, and work with engineering leaders and architects to turn that strategy into a platform that scales.

Autodesk’s product managers are passionate about shaping the future of the design and make industries. As the critical nexus between customer needs, business strategy, software development, and go-to-market execution, you’ll find that each day brings a new challenge. Whether you’re delivering a compelling pitch to a senior executive, drawing fresh insights from analytics data, resolving a customer issue, or collaborating with a development team on a complex architecture question, your industry expertise will help guide our trajectory. We relish crafting simple solutions to the most daunting challenges and take immense pride in creating value for our customers and our business. Your industry understanding, paired with our innovative spirit, will pave the way for Autodesk’s continued market leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Own the vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for our interoperability framework and related data products, from initial concept through execution and delivery
  • Build and defend the business case for interoperability investments, including market sizing, success metrics, and impact on customer adoption, retention, and revenue
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with architecture, engineering, and product teams across Autodesk and across regions
  • Recognize market opportunities in various regions and guide the Product Data vision and strategy, including build-versus-buy decisions
  • Partner with engineering leads and architects on platform and API design, translation quality and fidelity, and technical trade-offs
  • Collaborate directly with Autodesk product teams to outline, prioritize, and plan the development of new methodologies and tools. Make clear prioritization trade-offs across competing demands
  • Convey the value of our products to customers, differentiate Autodesk’s offerings from competitors, and create and manage a robust go-to-market plan, including positioning and packaging for internal products, partners, and external developers
  • Represent the product at customer sites, conferences, and other external venues, showcasing Autodesk’s understanding of the industry and the competitive market. Engage with partners and industry bodies to influence open standards and data-exchange practices
  • Synthesize customer feedback and analyze quantitative data to draw insights, make informed decisions, and measure product success. Define and track platform KPIs such as translation coverage and quality, adoption, performance, and developer experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • You hold a BS degree in Architecture, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Management, or equivalent. You value education but understand that real-world experience can be just as important
  • You’ve spent at least 8 years in product management or closely related roles at a SaaS/technology company, including 4+ years managing technical platform, API, or cloud products
  • You bring the technical depth to engage credibly with engineers on data models, APIs, cloud services, and distributed systems
  • You have a track record of owning a roadmap and strategy for a platform or developer-facing product, and of delivering measurable business outcomes
  • You’re a data enthusiast. You see data not just as numbers, but as a tool to be used, exchanged, and standardized to transform customer workflows and shape industries
  • You have a gift for making the complex simple. Whether it’s a technical concept or a business strategy, you can distill it into easily understood terms
  • Your persuasion, prioritization, relationship-building, and organizational skills are top-notch. You navigate relationships with diverse stakeholders and teams naturally, including senior leaders, and can align multiple teams without direct authority
  • Leadership comes naturally to you. You’re comfortable guiding cross-functional teams, and you understand the importance of industry and market knowledge in making influential decisions
  • You embrace the challenges of managing stakeholders, risk, and uncertainty. You understand the competitive landscape in the global design and make market, and are ready to make your mark
  • You have exceptional written communication skills in English. Fluency in other languages is a definite plus
  • You’re a team player, ready to collaborate with a global team across US, EMEA, and APAC time zones. You’re also ready to travel for work when required, and see it not as an obligation but as an opportunity to grow and learn

Preferred Qualifications

  • You have experience in AEC or manufacturing (MFG) software and understand the workflows, data, and file formats behind them
  • You have hands-on experience applying industry standards such as IFC to data workflows. Familiarity with manufacturing and mechanical CAD formats such as STEP, JT, and USD is equally valued. You don’t shy away from technical standards. Instead, you use them to enhance your work and set new industry trends
  • You have experience with file or data translation, data exchange, or interoperability products and you see technology not just as tools, but as partners in shaping the future of design and construction
  • You’re comfortable with Scrum/agile methodologies and understand that in the fast-paced world of technology, adapting and iterating quickly is a must. You thrive in an environment that values collaboration, customer focus, and continuous improvement
  • You have experience with industry standards bodies, open-standards initiatives, or partner and ecosystem programs
  • You have a working understanding of UX. A great product manager understands the basics of UX design to ensure products meet user needs and deliver a great experience
  • You have demonstrable time management skills. You can juggle multiple projects at once, so good time management is as essential as adaptability
