About The Gig
AutoVerify is looking for reliable photographers to shoot vehicle inventory at automotive dealerships in your area. This is an independent contract role, not an employee position. You tell us your availability, and we schedule you for shoots at dealerships close to home when it lines up with dealer requests.
On a shoot day, you’ll arrive at the dealership, pick up keys for the vehicles on your list, and photograph each one inside and out using our standard shot sequence. You’ll move cars around the lot to get clean angles, then upload your photos through our system. Our editing team takes it from there.
Your photos are the first step in everything we deliver to dealers, so we need them sharp, properly exposed, and consistently framed every time.
What a Typical Week Looks Like
As a contractor, you supply your own equipment and cover your own expenses and taxes. Before you start, you’ll need:
Photographer Applicant Questionnaire
This posting is for an immediate vacancy. We are actively seeking qualified candidates to join our team.
Appropriate accommodations will be provided upon request throughout the hiring process as required under the AutoVerify AODA Employment Standard policy and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). Should you require an accommodation please contact the Vice President, Human Resources.
While all submissions are appreciated, only those contractors selected for an interview will be contacted. The short-listed contractors will be asked to complete a brief practical assignment.
At AutoVerify, we embrace innovation and technology, and we leverage AI as part of our recruitment process. Human oversight remains central to every stage, as we are deeply committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion. We welcome applications from persons with disabilities and will provide support throughout the recruitment process, including accommodations that respect and address applicants’ accessibility needs.
All applications will be held in strictest confidence.

What a Typical Week Looks Like
- 1-2 shoot days per week, Monday to Friday, daytime hours (between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.)
- Shoots are at dealerships within your area. We will ask in advance if we need you to travel extra distance.
- The length of a shoot day depends on how many vehicles need photographing, so some days are short and some are full
- You work on your own on site, following our shot list and standards
- At least $75 per shoot day, with busier days paying $150 or more depending on how many vehicles you shoot. Paid by direct deposit.
- Flexible part-time work that fits around other gigs or commitments
- A lot of independence: no office, no manager looking over your shoulder, just you and your camera
- Full training on our shot sequence and standards before your first shoot
- A free SiriusXM subscription
As a contractor, you supply your own equipment and cover your own expenses and taxes. Before you start, you’ll need:
- Your own reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s licence
- Insurance to cover any incidents that occur on site
- A clean Driver’s Abstract
- A clean Criminal Record Check, which you obtain and pay for yourself (you can begin training while it’s processing)
- Your own DSLR camera
- A smartphone (Android or iPhone) with a data plan
- Comfort driving a manual transmission
- Photographers who care about technical consistency. Automotive experience is a plus, but solid fundamentals matter most.
- You understand how aperture, shutter speed, and ISO work together, and you can nail exposure without relying on editing.
- You have an eye for symmetry and clean composition.
- You’re a confident, careful driver in tight spaces. You’ll be handling dealership inventory all day.
- You’re dependable: you show up when scheduled, communicate clearly, and meet deadlines.
- You're available: the more open your schedule, the easier it is to book you. Dealers set the shoot days, so if your availability is limited to a few hours or days that don’t match their requests, we may not be able to schedule you.
- Apply using the link below.
- Practical assignment: if you fit our criteria, we’ll send you a brief assignment so you can show off your work.
- Offer and paperwork: if your assignment meets our standards, we’ll send a contract and ask for your licence, abstract, insurance, direct deposit info, and criminal record check.
- Training: you complete a training shoot using our guidelines that we review and give feedback on.
- First shoot: once you pass training, you’ll start receiving weekly availability requests and we’ll schedule your first day.
