Reports To: Production Manager
Shift / Assignment: Assigned across shifts as needed (1 position currently, expected to grow)
Compensation: $27–$30/hour
Position Summary
Keeps production equipment running - pre-roll makers, packers, baggers, printing/labelling equipment, and mills. Handles preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, and is the technical escalation point when a Machine Technician can't resolve an issue on their own.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on pre-roll makers, packers, baggers, printers/labellers, and mills per the maintenance schedule.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults on production equipment; minimize downtime.
- Respond to shift-floor breakdowns as the escalation point above what Machine Technicians can troubleshoot themselves.
- Maintain maintenance logs, parts usage, and equipment history; flag recurring failure patterns to the Process and Product Engineer.
- Support changeovers and new equipment/line commissioning alongside the Process and Product Engineer.
- Manage spare parts inventory for critical production equipment; order parts proactively to avoid stockouts.
- Coach Machine Technicians on basic troubleshooting to reduce reliance on Maintenance for minor issues.
Qualifications & Experience
- Millwright, industrial mechanic, or electromechanical trade background; certification an asset, not required if experience is strong.
- Experience maintaining packaging, filling, or similar automated production equipment - tobacco, food, pharma, or cannabis equipment experience is a strong plus.
- Comfortable working across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Able to read equipment manuals, schematics, and OEM documentation.
Auxly is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We thank all applicants for their interest, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted
