Where design meets opportunity, and careers are built to last

Averton is an experienced, award-winning homebuilder, community developer and construction management company. We’re looking for a Construction Coordinator to support construction administration, customer care and warranty across our for-sale and rental projects.

You’ll keep information organized, coordinate service and repairs through completion, and provide clear, professional communication to homeowners and rental property managers.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain construction records, meeting actions, deficiency lists and completion trackers.
  • Coordinate pre-occupancy inspections, construction turnover, possessions and handovers, including customer packages and closeout documentation.
  • Manage customer communication from construction updates through possession and warranty milestones.
  • Record and track service and warranty requests in Newstar, with clear next steps, responsible parties and completion dates.
  • Schedule assessments and repairs with homeowners, rental managers, trades and the Service and Warranty Technician; confirm completion before closing requests.
  • Coordinate rental service and warranty issues with third-party property managers, including access, resident communication and building handover.
  • Administer Alberta New Home Warranty Program registrations, enrollments, documents and claims coordination.
  • Monitor warranty budgets, review invoices within delegated approval limits, and report outstanding work, cost concerns and recurring defects.
  • Track grading approvals, landscaping and architectural requirements, and coordinate deposit and holdback releases with Accounting.
  • Manage Customer Insight surveys and follow-ups, and work with the delivery team to improve the customer experience.
  • Complete site walkthroughs, follow safety requirements and escalate urgent concerns, disputed coverage and overdue commitments.

Qualifications and skills

  • Three or more years of relevant experience in residential construction coordination, customer care or service and warranty.
  • Practical knowledge of residential construction, handover and Alberta new-home warranty requirements.
  • Experience with Newstar or similar software and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong customer service, communication, organization and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to prioritize independently, handle difficult conversations and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
  • Access to a vehicle for local site visits and appointments.
  • Experience with rental housing or third-party property managers is an asset.

Working relationships

You’ll work closely with the Construction Manager, site teams, the Service and Warranty Technician, Project Management, Design and Accounting.
