You've Built Businesses. Now Help Build Hundreds More.
You've led people. Owned a P&L. Built teams. Solved cash-flow problems. Driven sales. Made difficult decisions. Built systems. Managed through uncertainty - and probably made a few mistakes along the way.
Now imagine using everything you've learned to help ambitious business owners build stronger companies, inside an organization where
your own learning never stops.
At
Avid Business Performance Group, we're developing world-class Business Performance Coaches who combine business coaching, strategic advisory, training, facilitation and real operating experience.
Our ambition:
Put a Business Performance Coach into every Canadian business that wants to become better.
This Is More Than Business Coaching
SME owners face challenges that billion-dollar companies have entire departments to solve:
- Strategy, finance and cash flow
- Sales and marketing
- Leadership, recruiting and people
- Operations and systems
- Technology, AI and execution
- Business value and owner independence
We think entrepreneurs deserve access to world-class business thinking.
When an owner works with Avid, they enter a
business-performance ecosystem that, depending on their program, can include:
- One-to-one and group Business Performance Coaching
- Strategic advisory
- Quarterly strategic planning
- Monthly performance rhythms
- Weekly execution and accountability
- Leadership and team development
- Business education and masterclasses
- ActionCOACH frameworks and Avid business operating systems
- KPIs, scorecards, events and peer communities
Our coaches help owners
think better, make better decisions, install better systems and execute consistently.
The Professional Ecosystem You Walk Into
You aren't handed a laptop and told,
“Good luck finding clients.”
You enter an ecosystem built around
continuous improvement, including:
- ActionCOACH Methodology & Certification
- Avid Business Performance Coaching System
- Business Operating Systems for planning, KPIs, financial visibility and accountability
- Mentorship from experienced coaches and leadership
- Continuous Training across finance, sales, marketing, leadership, people, systems, strategy, technology, AI and business value
- Business Development Support to build relationships and a recurring client portfolio
We provide the platform, systems and support. You still have to learn, perform and build.
What You'll Do
You'll work directly with SME owners and leadership teams to:
- Improve revenue, profitability and cash flow
- Build sales and marketing systems
- Strengthen leadership and management
- Recruit and develop better people
- Improve operations and accountability
- Systemize the business and reduce owner dependency
- Create and execute strategic plans
- Increase enterprise value
Sometimes you'll
coach, teach, facilitate, mentor or advise. The skill is knowing
which mode the situation requires.
We Are Not Looking for Someone Who Simply Knows Business
We're looking for someone who can become
exceptional at coaching business.
Knowing the answer isn't enough.
Exceptional coaches learn to:
- Diagnose before prescribing
- Ask better questions
- Work from evidence and numbers
- Find the issue beneath the symptoms
- Challenge assumptions
- Hold owners accountable without rescuing them
- Turn insight into measurable execution
We're looking for someone who wants to become exceptional at
developing better business owners.
Who We're Looking For
We're particularly interested in former:
- Business Owners and Entrepreneurs
- CEOs, Presidents and COOs
- General Managers
- Operations and Sales Leaders
- Executives with meaningful P&L responsibility
- Turnaround leaders
- Management consultants
Previous business-coaching experience is not required. Strong business experience is.
We'd rather teach an exceptional operator
how to coach than assume coaching credentials mean someone understands business.
Ideally, you've:
- Owned a P&L or budget
- Sold and developed customers
- Managed cash and financial performance
- Hired, fired and developed people
- Built teams and systems
- Managed difficult periods
- Made decisions without perfect information
- Made mistakes, learned and improved
We value scar tissue, not just titles.
The Person Matters as Much as the Résumé
Experience gets our attention.
Character determines whether this works.
We're looking for:
- Curiosity - diagnose before assuming.
- Commercial intelligence - numbers don't intimidate you.
- Emotional intelligence - understand people without absorbing their drama.
- Courage - say what an owner may not want to hear.
- Low ego, high confidence - you don't need to be the smartest person in the room.
- Coachability - accept feedback and improve.
- Ownership - don't begin with blame, excuses or denial.
You ask:
What do I own, and what am I going to do about it?
This Is Probably NOT for You If...
We'd rather you deselect yourself now than discover a mismatch six months from now.
This probably isn't for you if:
- You want a predictable corporate role with narrow responsibilities.
- You expect six figures because you've held a senior title.
- You don't want business development to be part of your career.
- You expect clients to be handed to you.
- You avoid difficult conversations or accountability.
- You're uncomfortable discussing financial performance.
- You give advice before understanding the problem.
- You believe your experience means you no longer need training.
- You resist proven systems because you prefer doing things “your way.”
- You blame circumstances or others when results aren't happening.
- You're looking for an easy next chapter.
We operate above the
Point of Power: Ownership. Accountability. Responsibility.
Your First Year: Understand This Before Applying
Your first year requires significant learning, growth and execution.
You'll be simultaneously:
- Completing certification and developing your coaching capability
- Learning Avid and ActionCOACH methodologies
- Building business relationships and acquiring clients
- Building and retaining a recurring portfolio
- Delivering measurable client results
- Receiving feedback and continually improving
There is substantial support around you.
But support does not remove personal responsibility.
Compensation
The position starts with a
$50,000–$60,000 base salary, depending on experience and fit.
Additional compensation is earned through
performance, client acquisition, portfolio growth and retention.
Target first-year earnings: $100,000–$150,000.
Six figures is an opportunity - not an entitlement.
You have to build toward it.
If you require a
guaranteed six-figure salary immediately, this isn't the right opportunity.
What We Invest in You
Your development includes:
- ActionCOACH certification and structured Avid onboarding
- Business-coaching methodology
- Observation, role-play and deliberate practice
- Mentorship and session feedback
- Leadership and business-development training
- Financial and commercial development
- Strategic planning and business operating systems
- Technology, AI and ongoing professional education
Certification isn't graduation. It's the beginning.
Why Avid?
We believe SME owners should have access to
strategy, systems, education, accountability and advisory capability historically available primarily to much larger organizations.
We bring together:
- Business Coaching
- Strategic Advisory
- Business Education & Training
- Business Operating Systems
- Quarterly Strategic Planning
- Ongoing Execution & Accountability
- Leadership & Team Development
- Events & Peer Communities

Where This Can Lead

- Leaders and mentors
- Business-development leaders
- Potential partners
Before You Apply
Ask yourself:
- Do I genuinely love business and helping others win?
- Can I challenge successful people respectfully?
- Am I willing to become a student again?
- Can I sell, network and develop relationships?
- Can I confidently discuss financial and business performance?
- Will I follow a proven system and continually improve?
- Can I accept feedback without becoming defensive?
- Am I prepared to build for 12 months rather than judge this after 12 weeks?
- Do I want my next chapter to be bigger than another executive position?
If those questions energize you,
we should talk.
Our Hiring Process
- Application and résumé review
- Short video introduction
- Business-performance assessment
- Structured leadership and coaching interview
- Senior leadership mutual-fit conversation
- References and final assessment
We're less interested in rehearsed answers than in
how you think - the questions you ask, the evidence you seek and how you diagnose.
