Accountant

AviSina is a family-owned real estate development and property management company with a portfolio of privately held properties across Western Canada, primarily in BC’s Lower Mainland. As a company in the process of expanding our team, we are looking for an Accountant to contribute to our continued growth and success.

Overview:

The Accountant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day corporate and project-related accounting functions. This role offers potential for rapid career progression within a small, dynamic team. Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant’s responsibilities will include:

· Manage and maintain accounting records for the management company, corporate entities, and subsidiaries.

· Process full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice coding, approvals, payments, and vendor reconciliations.

· Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, amortization, and intercompany transactions.

· Manage and reconcile intercompany accounts between related entities, as well as bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.

· Prepare GST returns and support monthly financial reporting, cash flow reporting, and management reporting.

· Support payroll processing and related accounting entries and reconciliations.

· Assist with month-end and year-end close, including reconciliations, supporting schedules, and year-end audit and tax requirements.

· Assist the Controller with accounting system implementation, process improvements, and other corporate accounting initiatives.

Qualifications/Experience:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

· Minimum 3 years of full cycle accounting experience

· Proficient in Microsoft Office with intermediate Excel skills; experience with Yardi is an asset

· Excellent communication, organization, and data entry skills with superior attention to detail

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

· Strong multitasking and prioritization skills, with a commitment to meeting deadlines and schedules
