Original job description

Experience Aviva

Together, we are Aviva. Our values - Care, Commitment, Community, and Confidence - guide how we show up for each other and for our customers. Individually, they’re words. Together, they define who we are.

At Aviva Canada, we put people first, our employees, our customers, and our communities. We’re proud of a culture built on care, inclusion, and collaboration, where your voice matters and your growth is supported. We’re not just about insurance; we’re about making a real difference by protecting what matters most.

The Opportunity

Are you passionate about uncovering insights within complex data and translating them into better business outcomes? Do you enjoy solving unique pricing challenges where every risk tells a different story? Are you excited by the prospect of shaping pricing strategies for some of Canada's most affluent customers and their high-value homes, collections, and lifestyles?

At Aviva, our High Net Worth Pricing team is redefining how we approach risk selection, pricing sophistication, and portfolio management. We combine actuarial expertise, advanced analytics, and cutting-edge technology to develop innovative pricing solutions that support profitable growth while delivering exceptional value to our customers.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, highly collaborative team where your work will directly influence pricing strategies, product development, and business performance. You'll have the chance to work with unique datasets, emerging analytical techniques, and industry-leading tools while helping shape the future of our High Net Worth business.

What You’ll Do

Perform pricing analyses to support profitable growth across Aviva's High Net Worth portfolio.
Develop and enhance pricing models, rating structures, and segmentation strategies for high-value personal insurance products.
Analyze portfolio performance, customer behavior, and market trends to identify opportunities for pricing and product improvements.
Partner with Product, Underwriting, Data Science, and Distribution teams to deliver innovative solutions that support customer and business objectives.
Leverage tools such as Earnix, Python, SAS, SQL, and Excel to perform advanced analyses and automate pricing processes.
Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of pricing changes and product enhancements.
Develop management insights and communicate analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Contribute to ongoing pricing modernization initiatives and help identify new sources of data that improve risk segmentation and customer outcomes.

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
Progress toward ACAS, with a minimum of 3-5 CAS examinations completed.
3+ years of P&C insurance experience, ideally within pricing or predictive analytics.
Strong analytical thinking and a natural curiosity to explore complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
Excellent mathematical, statistical, and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with data analysis tools such as Python, SAS, SQL, R, or Excel.
Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and analytical findings to diverse audiences.
A passion for continuous learning and using data to improve customer and business outcomes.

What Makes You Stand Out

Experience with Earnix, Guidewire, predictive modeling, or machine learning.

What You’ll Get

The salary band for this position ranges from $90,000 to $110,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
Compelling rewards package including base compensation, eligibility for annual bonus, retirement savings, share plan, health benefits, personal wellness, and volunteer opportunities.
Hybrid flexible work model.
Outstanding career development opportunities.
We’ll support your professional development education.
Competitive vacation package with the option to purchase 5 extra days off per year.
Employee-driven programs focused on gender, LGBTQ+, origins, diversity, and inclusion.
Corporate wellness programs to support our employees’ physical and mental health.
Employee discount on home and auto insurance (where applicable).

This job advertisement is for an existing vacancy which has been posted both internally & externally.
