The Opportunity

We are seeking an Actuarial Manager to join our dynamic and high performing Large Accounts Pricing team. The Large Accounts Pricing team is responsible for supporting the pricing and profitability of commercial accounts with premium above $2M at Aviva, as well as accounts involving complex or unique structures. As part of the team, you will be responsible for providing actuarial analysis on Property, Casualty and Auto products and collaborating with underwriters and the leadership in these areas. The team plays a key role in supporting the financial goals of the commercial insurance business.

While the role will not officially have direct reports, you will have accountability for the overall performance and development of actuarial analysts and to foster a positive and dynamic work environment that values people and achieves outperforming results.

What you’ll do:

Lead indication analysis to ensure rate adequacy of individual accounts, and pricing reviews of high value complex portfolios and provide rate recommendations
Develop alternative pricing solutions based on the unique characteristics of the large accounts; evaluate and quantify credit risk for accounts with large retentions
Effectively collaborate and communicate across the business with senior management, underwriters, and brokers to deliver impactful pricing solutions
Develop and execute roadmap for continuous improvement to improve sophistication, efficiency, and analytical capabilities
Drive portfolio monitoring to deliver pricing insights and understanding of portfolio performance
Coach and mentor senior and junior analysts and co-op students. Act as a role model for Aviva values and inspire others to follow them.

What you’ll bring:

Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
Minimum ACAS/ACIA, FCAS/FCIA is preferred.
5+ years of P&C actuarial experience, 3+ years of commercial pricing experience
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
Exceptional communicator with ability to effectively communicate analytical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
Proven ability to manage and complete multiple projects with facility to multi-task and prioritize.
