We offer clients advanced in-house engineering & design with 3D modeling, piloting, fabrication and machining, in-house control panel shop, and a full range of field services, allowing us to provide turn-key solutions.
As our company and backlog expands, we are seeking qualified persons in filling the senior position in our Controls / Automation Division. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a level of technical experience in industrial control systems, and hands-on experience.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Leads the development of the control system, from the control system design to field instrumentation
- Total procurement of customer user requirement specifications
- Evaluating control strategies and suitability to common industrial processes
- Evaluating I&C documentation - Control Narrative, RATS List, Cause and Effect Diagram, Serial Interface Lists
- Designing and implementing multiple-loop control systems. Ensuring seamless integration with other systems including existing control systems
- PLC programming and calibration of field devices
- Leading development initiatives to improve process and systems optimization.
- Develops intuitive HMI display graphics and configurations
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect control systems
- Develop intuitive SCADA / RTU applications including historian / trending and reporting.
- Configuring and troubleshooting industrial network components
- Supports internal Factory Acceptance Testing prior to equipment shipment to site
- Supports field commissioning and operations of complete water and wastewater systems
- Field support will require the successful candidate to be willing to travel (less than 25% of their time)
- Communicates with internal/external key stakeholders (e.g., engineering, fabrication, CAD, consultants, suppliers) to identify and resolve issues pro-actively
- Delivers exceptional service to clients and on-site partners (e.g., General Contractors, end users)
- Root Cause analysis for control system failures including the development and implementation of corrective actions
- Provide remote technical support for clients and site operators
- Provide mentorship to junior staff
- 10+ years of experience
- Experience in water/wastewater treatment plants, as well as a variety of other turnkey industrial process packages will be an asset
- Post-secondary education in Automation & Instrumentation
- Demonstrate experience in PLC programming and field service support for multiple programming platforms
- Experience with a variety of PLC platforms, preferably Rockwell ControlLogix / CompactLogix, Siemens S7 using TIA Portal, and CODESYS-based PLC systems
- Experience and/or working knowledge with HMIs, preferably Rockwell FactoryTalk View Studio and Siemens WinCC / TIA Portal.
- Experience with Schneider PLC and HMI platforms, such as Modicon and EcoStruxure, including Structured Text programming, would be considered an asset
- Experience and/or knowledge with SCADA, various VFDs, industrial communications networks
- Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and pride in delivering high quality results
- Excellent communication (verbal & written), interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills, including attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Ability to provide leadership to small project teams
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Responsibilities
Lead control system development from design and instrumentation through PLC programming, HMI/SCADA configuration, integration, testing, and commissioning for water, wastewater, and other industrial process systems. Provide client and field support, troubleshoot failures and implement corrective actions, improve system performance, coordinate with stakeholders, and mentor junior staff.
Requirements
Requires 10+ years of experience and post-secondary education in Automation and Instrumentation, with hands-on PLC programming and field service experience across multiple platforms. Candidates should have experience with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, VFDs, and industrial communications, along with strong communication, planning, problem-solving, and leadership skills; water and wastewater treatment experience is an asset.
