Summary

  • Location: Montreal
  • Work Mode: Onsite (day 1 onboarding onsite / in-office presence required 3x/week)
  • Duration: 12 Months Contract Position

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise applications using Java and related technologies.
  • Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, contributing to analysis, solution design, implementation, testing, and production support.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
  • Drive engineering best practices including code quality, automation, application resiliency, performance, and operational support.
  • Contribute to application modernisation, continuous improvement initiatives, and agile delivery processes.

Requirements

  • Strong commercial software development experience with Java (Java 17) and Spring Boot.
  • Experience building and supporting REST APIs and backend services.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented design, software engineering principles, and development best practices.
  • Experience with SQL, relational databases, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse and resolve complex production issues.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with technologies such as Kafka, Elasticsearch, Angular (web development), microservices architectures, cloud-hosted environments, observability platforms (OpenTelemetry), and DevOps practices would be beneficial.
  • Previous experience within financial services or other large-scale enterprise environments is advantageous.
