Import Coordinator

Location: Dorval, 5 days in the office

Our client is a tool importer based in Dorval - they source from overseas suppliers and sell across Canada to retailers such as BMR, Home Depot, and Amazon, among others.

The Import Coordinator works alongside the Purchasing Manager and other team members to handle the paperwork involved in the import process. From entering purchase orders into the MSBC system to managing all import documents and tracking all shipments, he or she will work with freight forwarders and customs brokers to clear incoming goods.

Key Responsibilities:

Document Management: Verify commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin for accuracy.
Shipment Tracking: Monitor cargo bookings and transit times, and update internal records on delivery status.
Customs Coordination: Work alongside another administrative assistant to prepare files for customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure the prompt release of goods.
Invoices, Data Processing, and Wire Transfers: Compare supplier invoices to purchase orders and prepare supplier submissions for wire transfers or letters of credit.
Communication: Correspond with foreign suppliers regarding any missing documents or information, such as shipping details, and answer any logistics-related questions.

Job Requirements

Education: CEGEP diploma or degree in business, supply chain management, or international trade.
Experience: 2 to 5 years in an office, logistics, or import environment.
Skills: STRONG organizational skills, accuracy in data entry, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel. MSBC is a plus.
Knowledge: A basic understanding of shipping terms (Incoterms) and customs documents is a plus.
Bilingual: French and English
