The Company

B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland.

Position

Operator - II, Civil Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Supervisor, Civil Earthworks, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including (but not limited to) Dozer, Excavator, Rock Truck, Graders, Loaders, and Roller Compactors.
Perform duties including large and small scale excavation, and material placement in accordance with project requirements.
Interpret and follow project plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate execution of assigned tasks.
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and address any issues promptly.
Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or incidents to the supervisor in a timely manner.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools and housekeeping of equipment.
Collaborate with supervisors and fellow team members to coordinate activities and achieve project objectives.
Adhere to B2Gold Nunavut's health, safety and environment policies and procedures.

Desired Competencies And Requirements

Five (5) years' experience operating heavy equipment including 320-349 Excavator, DS-D8 Dozer, 730 Articulating Rock truck, 14m Grader, Front end Loader and Roller Compactor.
Heavy Equipment Operating Certification may be considered an asset.
Previous experience working on a remote site in Arctic conditions with limited access to resources, is desirable.
Prior experience working with Indigenous groups in a professional capacity.

Compensation And Benefits

For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $124,020.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $45.00 and overtime rate of $67.50) in a work year.

B2Gold Nunavut offers a competitive compensation package, including salary commensurate with experience, knowledge, and skills, plus a group benefits package for employees and their dependents.
