Original job description

Archived listing. The details below describe a past opening.

This isn't a clipboard and coffee gig.

We're looking for someone who can run the show, jump behind the bar, lead a team and still keep the vibe dialed in. Someone who gets that great coffee is just the baseline and the real magic is in the energy, the people and how it all comes together.

If you can keep things tight when it's chaos, build a team that actually wants to be there, and make customers feel like regulars on day one.

Responsibilities

Run the Floor, own the cafe from open to close, no babysitting required.
Keep service fast, smooth and dialed (even when the lineup is out the door)
Handle customer situations like a pro: cool, calm, no drama.
Build a team you want to work with.
Hire great people (not just warm bodies)
Train them properly not "figure it out as you go"
Set the tone: high standards, no ego, no nonsense.
Make the schedule work for the business and the team
Keep the Coffee legit
Ensure every drink that goes out is something you'd proudly serve.
Train consistency, no "it depends who made it" drinks
Push the team to care abut quality without turning it into a lecture
Control the Back End (without losing your mind)
Manage inventory
Keep costs in check without cutting corners
Stay on top of ordering, waste, and product flow
KNOW THE NUMBERS
Keep and eye on sales, labour and performance
Make smart calls to keep the business profitable
Spot opportunities to grow, and actually act on them
KEEP iT CLEAN & LEGIT
Maintain a space that feels sharp, not just "clean enough"
Stay compliant with health & safety without overcomplicating it
Fix problems before they become problems
YOU'LL CRUSH THIS IF YOU
Actually like being in the middle of the action (not hiding in the back)
Can lead a team without micromanaging or power-tripping
Stay calm when things get slammed
Have an eye for detail but don't lose the big picture
Give a damn about coffee, people, and how the place feels
THE BASICS
2+ years running a cafe or similar operation
Know your way around espresso, workflow, and service
Comfortable with POS systems
Can work early mornings, weekends and whatever the job needs
WHAT YOU GET
Competitive salary
Room to make an impact (not just maintain)
Staff perks + a lot of coffee
A team and brand that doesn't take itself too seriously, but takes what it does seriously.

BOTTOM LINE

If you're looking for a quiet manager role where you just "keep things running", this isn't it. If you want to build something, lead from the front and make a place people talk about, we should talk

Qualifications

Proven experience in restaurant management or food service leadership roles; supervising experience is preferred.

Benefits:

Discounted or free food
On-site parking
Store discount
