Original job description

Backwoods Security Services is currently seeking an experienced Security Guard for a team of guards at an Industrial Facility 45 minutes SE of Calgary, AB. CANDIDATES MUST BE LOCAL TO CALGARY AND IMMEDIATE SURROUNDING AREA.

Wage: $18.25 / Hour

Travel: 1 hr paid travel per day

Schedule: Night Shift

Where: Industrial Facility

The Role:

This is a Fulltime Security Guard Position at an Industrial Site 45 minutes SE of Calgary.

Maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by patrolling and monitoring premises
Monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings, equipment and access points
Access Control: Permit authorized persons entry to site when required
Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, inform violators of policy and procedures; restrain if necessary
Control traffic by directing drivers
Complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA’s) and Daily Occurrence Reports (DOR’s) and Incident Reports (IR’s) when required
Inspect Backwoods vehicles, notify Field Manager when service is required
Maintain environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls
Arrive on time for shift. If you know you will be unable to fulfill your duties, you must communicate with the on-call supervisor ahead of time
Able to work efficiently and effectively both as part of a team or individually

What We're Looking For:

Alberta Security License (required)
1 year Industrial Security experience (required)
Class 5 Driver's License with no more than 6 demerits (required)
Standard First Aid with CPR (preferred)
CSTS2020 (required)
H2S Awareness (preferred)
Objectivity, emotional control and dependability
Able to follow complex instructions, both written and verbal
Knowledgeable about security operations and procedures
Site orientations as needed and requested

Responsibilities

The security guard is responsible for maintaining a safe environment by patrolling the industrial facility, monitoring surveillance equipment, and controlling site access. They must also complete daily reports, conduct hazard assessments, and manage traffic flow.

Requirements

Candidates must possess an Alberta Security License, a Class 5 Driver's License, and CSTS2020 certification. At least one year of industrial security experience is required, along with the ability to work night shifts.
