LOCAL APPLICANTS ONLY – Applicants must reside within one hour of Lloydminster, Alberta.
Backwoods Security Services is currently seeking a reliable and professional Security Guard to join our team at a retail mall in Lloydminster, Alberta. This position typically works 4 days on, 3 days off with shifts ranging from 10–12 hours.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, and visitors through regular patrols and monitoring of the premises.
- Monitor surveillance equipment and inspect buildings, equipment, and access points.
- Perform access control duties and ensure only authorized individuals enter restricted areas when required.
- Help prevent theft, loss, and property damage by identifying and reporting suspicious activity and addressing policy violations.
- Direct traffic and assist with vehicle movement when required.
- Complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs), Daily Occurrence Reports (DORs), and Incident Reports (IRs) as required.
- Inspect Backwoods vehicles and notify the Field Manager when maintenance or servicing is needed.
- Monitor building conditions and equipment to help maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Arrive on time and ready for every scheduled shift. Communicate with the on-call supervisor as early as possible if unable to attend a shift.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team while maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Alberta Security Services Licence (required).
- Valid Standard First Aid Certification (required).
- Previous experience working as a Security Guard (minimum one year preferred).
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Flexible availability to work various days, with 10–12-hour shifts.
- Availability for overtime when required.
- Must live within one hour of Lloydminster, Alberta. Local applicants only.
