Position Overview
The University of Ottawa is hiring a Product Manager, IT Security in IT Services and Infrastructure.
The position manages strategic IT initiatives, application solutions, business process design, project delivery, and application support.
The role reports to the Senior Manager, IT Security and is scheduled for 35 hours per week.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage initiatives for designated faculties or services and communicate with technical and non-technical university staff.
- Provide leadership and guidelines for application-solution implementation and support operational applications.
- Identify data sources and business rules and design conceptual and logical data models for the data warehouse environment.
- Select and implement technologies and tools for new releases and contribute to application design, testing, and improvement.
- Evaluate IT solution approaches, develop project proposals, and document risks and mitigation strategies.
- Manage licensing and vendors and design solutions using business process, re-engineering, and workflow analysis.
- Organize, lead, and supervise interdisciplinary project teams with appropriate staffing, controls, reporting, and risk management.
- Implement change-management and communication strategies, maintain application support services, and address client concerns.
Required Qualifications
- A university degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field is required.
- At least five years of project planning, risk analysis, and project management experience in a complex and diverse IT environment is required.
- Experience with project management methodologies and multi-year cross-functional systems projects is required.
- Experience creating estimates, workflow and information-flow maps, risk analyses, and mitigation strategies is required.
- Knowledge of the University's IT policies, procedures, and guidelines is required.
- French and English proficiency, spoken and written, is required.
- Negotiation, influence, advanced interpersonal communication, independent work, deadline management, and awareness of emerging technologies are required.
Preferred Security Experience
- Information security project experience, information security best practices, security awareness programs, and information security systems knowledge are advantageous.
Compensation
- The posted salary range is CAD 107,503 to CAD 134,379.
