Calgary, AB (Hybrid)

We are looking for an Operations Manager, InVigor to join our Agricultural Solutions team in Calgary, AB.

The Operations Manager, InVigor manages the 0–3-year market plan for the InVigor Hybrid portfolio, including multiyear, short- and mid-term projections on canola seeded acres, seed company market share evolution, and trait penetration - optimizing profitability for BASF, identifying growth opportunities, and designing and allocating the InVigor Hybrid seed and trait mix to meet market demands. This role also leads the Life Cycle Management of InVigor Canola Hybrids, covering positioning and phasing of new and older hybrids, pricing, sales & operations planning (S&OP), trait and agronomic go-to-market positioning, mid-term forecasts, and customer seed allocations, and is responsible for generating the annual InVigor Marketing Letter and supporting distributor customer meetings.

As a Operations Manager, InVigor, you create chemistry by...

Serving as strategic lead and owner for all InVigor portfolio Life Cycle Management (LCM) activities, ensuring effective new product launches, hybrid phase-out planning, alignment with production on inventory, and effective execution of fall warehousing activities.
Leading canola seed allocation activities and providing business direction to Product Supply to meet customer demand for all InVigor hybrids, including managing in-season allocation of hybrid mix by channel partner.
Leading canola seed market model forecasts and the long-term strategic plan for the Canadian canola market, managing the 0–3-year market model for InVigor hybrids and providing insights into seeded acre projections, market share evolution, and trait penetration.
Working closely with the North American Breeding Manager, Technical Marketing Manager, and Agronomy teams on agronomic and trait positioning and go-to-market activities and maintaining close contact with Breeding on new hybrid planning, selection, and positioning.
Generating new hybrid positioning and supporting communication to customers and internal stakeholders, including channel partner marketing letters.
Leading marketing activities for special projects such as Biofuels, InVigor Gold, palletization, and planter/seed singulation recommendations.
Working closely with the Team Lead, InVigor and Global S&T Portfolio Lead on pricing, long-term strategic planning, and new trait introductions, serving as the Canadian lead for establishing canola seed pricing.
Developing the Marketing Letter and managing pricing projections by hybrid during the budget process and providing InVigor volume projections to the Canola Marketing Team for annual budget preparation.

If you...

Hold a bachelor’s degree (required); a master’s degree is considered an asset.
Bring 10+ years of experience in the agricultural industry, preferably in Canola Seed Marketing. Previous experience in sales or account management would be an asset.
Possess strong technical, financial, and marketing expertise related to the canola portfolio, competitive products, and market dynamics.
Have a solid understanding of marketing, sales, and financial principles.
Demonstrate deep knowledge of canola agronomy, grower needs, distributor networks, and the broader crop protection industry.
Understand canola hybrid breeding, seed production, and variety of development processes.
Have hands-on experience with canola life cycle management and seed allocation planning.
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
Take initiative, drive results, and consistently deliver business objectives.
Apply strong analytical skills to evaluate and communicate complex hybrid performance insights.
Demonstrate strategic thinking, sound business judgment, and proven leadership capabilities.
Are able to travel 15%.
