Summary
- Extend the services of physicians by providing assessment and management in the critical care specialty area.
- Assist in bedside surgical procedures. Patients are typically intubated on ventilators and/or have hemodynamic instability.
- Medical Specialties include but are not limited to primary and secondary care areas cardiology, neurology, oncology, pain management, nephrology, etc.
- Services that this position may provide include physical exam, interpreting diagnostic tests, closing incisions, managing ventilator settings, vasopressors, advanced skills, and counseling patients about treatment.
- Provide coordination and clinical services across the continuum of care for medical/surgical specialty patients.
- APPs plan and conduct ongoing education and training.
- Operate under physician directed protocols for all Advanced Practice Provider duties.
Minimum Qualifications
APP must obtain and maintain Medical Staff privileges as required by the position. Acute Care Advanced Practice Practitioner Program Certification is preferred for this position.
Education
- Required
- Masters - Nursing; Or - Bachelors - Physician Assistant
Credentials
- Adv Practice RN License or PA License
- BLS/ACLS
Experience
- Preferred Experience: Three years Acute Care in Cardiac, Pulmonary, ED, Critical Care or Pediatric Critical Care.

Location: St Josephs Main and Childrens
Status: Full Time, Exempt: No
Shift Hours: 7:00AM - 5:30PM & 5:00PM - 7:30AM - 10 hour days, 14 hour nights alternating.
Weekend Work: Every Other
On Call: No
