Original job description

At Bayer, we believe work should matter. Every day, our teams push toward a future where "Health for all, Hunger for none" is within reach, and every role, from the lab to the field to the boardroom, helps us get there. We give people the ownership to shape outcomes, the support to grow through new skills and experiences, and a global community where different perspectives are valued. If you want your work to count and the room to become your best, you'll find it here.

Asundexian Product Lead

Reporting directly to the President & CEO of Bayer Inc., the Asundexian Product Lead will lead a high-priority, cross-functional Product Squad and hold strategic, launch, and financial accountability for Asundexian in Canada.

The ASU Product Lead will build and execute the Canadian launch strategy, subject to regulatory approval, ensuring market, customer, field, access, supply, and organizational readiness. This leader will translate customer and market insights into clear strategic choices, mobilize resources across functions, and establish an agile, high-performance culture that supports launch excellence and sustainable growth.

Bayer is committed to a flexible hybrid working environment. This is a vacant permanent position based out of Mississauga, ON

What you will do:

Launch Strategy and Execution

Lead the end-to-end Canadian launch strategy, from pre-launch planning and market preparation through launch execution and early post-launch optimization.
Develop an integrated, multi-year launch roadmap with clear priorities, milestones, accountabilities, performance indicators, risks, and mitigation plans.
Translate the global brand strategy into a differentiated Canadian value proposition, positioning, segmentation, and customer-engagement plan.
Anticipate clinical, access, policy, market, and competitive developments and adjust strategy accordingly.

Cross-Functional Leadership

Lead a cross-functional squad spanning Marketing, Medical, Market Access, Regulatory, Customer Engagement, Patient Support, Operations, Analytics, and other enabling functions.
Set the strategic direction, clarify decision rights, remove barriers, and foster empowered, timely, and insight-led execution.
Apply the VACC leadership model - Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, and Coach - to build an inclusive, high-performing team with collective accountability.
Align Canadian priorities with global and regional stakeholders while representing local market and launch requirements.

Customer and Market Leadership

Serve as a senior ambassador for Asundexian and build trusted relationships with Canadian external experts, healthcare system stakeholders, advisory-board members, and relevant professional organizations.
Convert market research, competitive intelligence, customer insights, and analytics into actionable priorities.
Partner with Customer Engagement teams to ensure field colleagues have the strategy, capabilities, content, and insights required for effective execution across hospital and community settings.
Represent Bayer at relevant congresses, advisory forums, and external stakeholder meetings.

Financial and Resource Stewardship

Share accountability for business and financial performance with the appropriate Customer Engagement and Product Operations leaders.
Develop robust business cases and secure the resources and capabilities required for launch.
Manage the brand budget with discipline and reallocate investment based on evidence, changing priorities, and anticipated impact.

Agile, Digital, and Compliant Execution

Use agile planning cycles to test, learn, prioritize, and respond quickly to changing customer and market needs.
Champion digital-first, omnichannel engagement and modular content development.
Apply generative AI, predictive analytics, and emerging technologies responsibly to improve insight generation, planning, content operations, and customer experience.
Ensure all plans and activities comply with Canadian regulatory, legal, privacy, pharmacovigilance, PAAB, and Innovative Medicines Canada requirements.
Ensure all activities/events are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, in accordance with Bayer Safety, compliance and Sustainability Policies.

Who you are:

Bachelor’s degree in business, Science, or a related discipline; MBA or another relevant advanced degree is preferred.
Significant progressive pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience, including a minimum of 8 years of strategic leadership in Marketing, Sales, Market Access, or a related commercial function.
Recent, successful Canadian pharmaceutical launch experience is required, ideally within the past five years, with meaningful leadership accountability across pre-launch strategy, market readiness, launch execution, and early post-launch optimization.
Cardiovascular, neurology, and/or hospital/institutional market experience is strongly preferred, including an understanding of hospital-based customer pathways, multidisciplinary stakeholders, formulary and access dynamics, and field execution in the hospital setting.
Proven experience leading a complex cross-functional brand or product team in a matrixed organization.
Demonstrated ability to use customer insights, competitive intelligence, and analytics to shape strategy, investment, and execution.
Experience engaging senior external experts, healthcare system stakeholders, and executive-level internal partners.

Leadership Capabilities:

Launch leadership: Converts ambiguity into a focused strategy, integrated launch plan, and disciplined execution.
Strategic foresight: Anticipates market shifts, competitor actions, policy developments, and organizational needs. Enterprise leadership: Connects functions and balances global direction with Canadian market realities.
Financial acumen: Demonstrates sound budget management, resource planning, business-case development, and performance oversight.
Customer centricity: Grounds decisions in patient, healthcare-professional, payer, and healthcare system insights.
Agility and digital fluency: Leads through change and applies omnichannel, AI, and analytics capabilities effectively and responsibly.
Collaborative in fluence: Builds trust, manages conflict constructively, challenges the status quo, and mobilizes stakeholders without relying on formal authority.
Resilience and judgment: Remains composed in a visible, fast-moving environment and makes sound decisions with incomplete information.

Success Measures:

Critical Canadian launch-readiness milestones are achieved on time and to the required quality.
Market, customer, field, access, supply, and organizational readiness support a successful launch.
Strategy and investment choices are insight-led, differentiated, and supported by cross-functional alignment.
The squad demonstrates accountability, agility, inclusion, and strong execution.
External stakeholder engagement generates insights that materially improve launch decisions and customer value.

What we offer:

Competitive compensation and rewards package.
Collaborative, diverse and inclusive culture.
Career development and global opportunities.
Work-life flexibility programs such as flex hours, employee discounts, volunteer days, wellness, and other employee offerings.

Bayer is committed to fostering, cultivating and preserving a culture of Inclusion and Diversity. We embrace and encourage our employees’ differences and believe that our people are our most valuable asset. The collective sum of individual life experiences, knowledge, innovation, self-expression, unique capabilities that our employees invest in their work represents our culture, reputation, and Bayer’s values and purpose.

All referral candidates must first be submitted via our internal referral system by a current Bayer employee in order to participate in the referral program. Once a Bayer employee has successfully referred you in our system, you will receive an automated email with instructions on how to complete your application.
