Original job description

Are you a dynamic leader ready to shape unforgettable customer experiences? Baywest Homes is excited to announce that we are seeking an Area Sales Manager to join our team. This individual will champion proactive solutions, streamline processes, and inspire a high-performing team of Sales Associates and Ambassadors, while also driving results, elevating the client journey, and delivering exceptional service from first handshake to possession.

The Baywest Difference…

Just as we help our customers design a home that tells their story, at Baywest Homes we want to help tell yours. Our people are our greatest strength - a collaborative, curious, and passionate team supported by strong values, meaningful development, competitive rewards, and a healthy work–life balance. Here, your story matters, and we’re excited to help you write the next chapter.

Flexible by Design: Flexibility to fit your life, not the other way around. Competitive vacation entitlements, additional time off around holidays and free personal days for when you need it.
Stronger Together: Fun team gatherings and a culture that puts people front and center.
Wellness Wins: Gym access and wellness initiatives to help you feel your best. Top of class health benefits and a health spending account.
Compensation That Counts: Rewarding your skills and contributions with a competitive commission structure.
Shoutouts That Shine: We celebrate wins - big, small, and everything in between.
Grow Your Career: Professional development that keeps you moving forward personally and in your career.

The Difference Only You Can Make…

You’ll make a daily impact by driving sales performance and delivering a premium, customer-focused experience. Through active prospecting, thoughtful discovery, and clear communication, you guide purchasers confidently while preparing accurate documentation, managing lot activity, and ensuring details flow smoothly across sales, construction, warranty, and marketing. With strong organization and the ability to interpret construction documents, you keep timelines on track, uphold high standards in the sales centre and show homes, and anticipate challenges early. By adapting to urgent priorities and collaborating across departments, you help maintain an efficient operation that supports traffic growth and successful homebuyer journeys.

What Your Day May Look Like…

Achieve monthly and annual sales targets while delivering a premium purchasing experience and maintaining customer satisfaction scores above industry benchmarks.
Actively prospect, nurture, and qualify leads through effective discovery, ensuring accurate registration and timely data entry into the CRM system.
Serve as the primary liaison between purchasers, construction, warranty, office teams, and the land developer, providing regular communication and bi‑weekly build‑progress updates.
Prepare and accurately complete all sales-related documentation, including Purchase Agreements, FINTRAC forms, pricing/design requests, change orders, reports, and lot‑hold submissions.
Maintain the sales centre, show homes, and spec homes to company standards, ensuring cleanliness, security, accurate signage, and sufficient marketing collateral.
Collaborate with Marketing to execute community‑specific initiatives, drive new and repeat traffic, and support strategic sales objectives.
Manage prospecting and community engagement activities to increase return visits and build a strong lead pipeline.
Participate in purchaser meetings, walkthroughs, possessions, sales meetings, and training sessions as required.

What You’ll Bring…

Minimum 5 years of professional sales experience, preferably in a high‑engagement or client‑focused environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build rapport and convey information clearly.
Ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints, grade slips, specifications, and other construction‑related documents.
Previous experience in the new‑home sales or real estate industry.
Proficiency with MS SharePoint; experience with BuildTopia considered an asset.

About Us…

Since our beginning in 1985, Baywest Homes has been known for innovative, client-focused design, solid construction processes, superior product knowledge and outstanding relationships with our homeowners, partners, trades and colleagues.

We believe it’s not only what we build, but how we build, that makes the difference. From award-winning designs to a more collaborative process with our homeowners, we have a “crafted and curated” philosophy that ensures the perfect fit. The result?

A new home building and purchase experience unlike any other in the Calgary market, and a home our clients love, and live in, longer.
