Your future role on our team
You’ll join our mechanical engineering team specialized in pumping systems. In this role, you’ll participate in engineering, technology selection and the execution of mechanical and multidisciplinary projects in the mining, energy and heavy industry sectors. Over time, you’ll also play a key role in coordinating related disciplines, such as civil, structural, electrical and automation engineering.
Specifically, you’ll contribute to all phases of engineering projects, from front-end studies to detailed engineering and construction. Your projects will include designing and implementing pumping stations, dewatering systems and tailings pumping facilities.

Your future role on our team
You’ll join our mechanical engineering team specialized in pumping systems. - Perform complex hydraulic calculations using simulation software
- Design pumping systems
- Make technical choices in establishing designs, provide recommendations, and make decisions on highly technical and complex issues
- Prepare engineering documents
- Draft technical reports
- Help prepare proposals
- Participate in various project phases, from studies and detailed engineering to site support and commissioning
- Conduct onsite technical audits and technical information surveys
- Assist with system commissioning and troubleshooting
- Coordinate related disciplines (civil, structural, electrical and automation)
- Help develop and improve efficient tools and work methods
- Develop your expertise through mentorship from senior engineers and BBA University

- University degree in mechanical or chemical engineering
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
- Up to three years of experience
- Interest in fluid mechanics, pumping, piping and energy
- Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
- Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
- Asset: experience in the mining, energy or heavy industry sector
- Asset: knowledge of digital simulation software (AFT Fathom or others)

Responsibilities
Design and support pumping stations, dewatering systems, and tailings pumping facilities across project phases, performing hydraulic calculations, selecting technologies, preparing engineering documents, and providing site support and commissioning assistance. Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, and automation disciplines, conduct technical audits and surveys, and help improve engineering tools and work methods.
Requirements
A university degree in mechanical or chemical engineering and membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec are required, along with up to three years of experience and an interest in fluid mechanics, pumping, piping, and energy. Advanced English and French skills are required; experience in mining, energy, or heavy industry and knowledge of digital simulation software such as AFT Fathom are assets.
