Type of position: Regular

Your future role on our team

Join BBA and help deliver large-scale engineering projects. As a document control officer, you’ll play a key role in several major projects and work with passionate, multidisciplinary teams.

You’ll use your rigour, organizational skills and attention to detail every day to ensure efficient, well-structured document management. You’ll help control, file, track, update and distribute project documents while ensuring compliance with project-specific processes, standards and requirements.

You’ll work closely with project leaders, engineers, professionals and other stakeholders to support the flow of information and help maintain the quality and traceability of documentation throughout project life cycles.

Monitor document quality and ensure engineering documents are properly saved
Save client and supplier documents in the firm’s computer systems
Ensure document control procedures are followed consistently
Verify the consistency of document transmittals
Provide guidance and support to project team members
Distribute client documents to engineering teams and project managers, according to established distribution lists
Update documents on collaboration platforms, such as Bluebeam, SharePoint and BIM 360
Scan documents and create electronic files with Adobe Acrobat

Summary Of Certifications And Job Requirements

College diploma or relevant and transferable experience, ideally in document management
At least three years of relevant experience
Detailed knowledge of electronic documents, document management systems and database query methodology and architecture
Ability to work in a modern database environment
Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
Asset: knowledge and experience in all areas of document management in an engineering environment
