An Overview Of Your Future Role At BBA
Join BBA and make the most of your experience by actively contributing to the various stages of major automation engineering projects, from the start of the business relationship to onsite equipment commissioning.
By joining our team as an engineer and project leader, you’ll participate in engineering mandates and programming in automation, and instrumentation and control. Your role will be to contribute to various phases of engineering and site work.
You may also be called upon to participate in producing deliverables for digital solution mandates. You'll also have the opportunity to engage and manage a work team to deliver the expected results, while developing your entrepreneurial skills.

- Help define the scope of projects and proposals
- Assign and revise work by technicians and drafters assigned to the project and assess the technical scope
- Be involved in commissioning
- Help prepare plans and specifications as well as detailed engineering deliverables (P&IDs, layout drawings, I/O loop and motor control diagrams, lists of cables and instruments, installation details)
- Help program PLCs, DCSs and operator interfaces
- Monitor the project to ensure it remains on time and on budget

Overview Of Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
- From 5 to 12 years of relevant experience in automation, instrumentation and control
- Experience in programming control systems (SCADA, PLC, DCS)
- Experience with pre-operational verifications (POVs) and commissioning
- Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
- Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
- Ability to draft technical documents in both English and French
- Asset: knowledge of distributed control systems (DCS)
