BBA is seeking a project manager with 10 to 15 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and tailings storage facility management. You’ll be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering multidisciplinary projects involving tailings management facilities, waste rock storage facilities, water management infrastructure and other mining geotechnical works. You’ll ensure deadlines, budgets, quality standards and health and safety requirements are met, while maintaining close communication with clients and project teams. This role combines project management, technical coordination, risk management and business relationship development across Canada and, depending on the project, internationally.

- Plan, organize and manage projects involving tailings storage facilities, waste rock storage facilities, water management infrastructure and related geotechnical works
- Define and deliver project scope, deliverables, schedules, budgets and resource requirements
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, partners, subcontractors and stakeholders involved in projects
- Monitor project progress, costs, risks, changes and deliverable quality
- Help coordinate and review geotechnical studies, stability analyses, water management plans, site investigation programs and construction activities
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, design criteria and industry best practices applicable to tailings management facilities
- Prepare and lead project meetings, produce progress reports and ensure clear communication with clients
- Anticipate technical and contractual issues, recommend solutions and support decision-making
- Help prepare proposals, estimate efforts and develop long-term relationships with mining-sector clients
- Mentor less experienced team members and promote knowledge sharing and project management best practices

Summary Of Certifications And Job Requirements
- From 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in geotechnical project management, tailings storage facilities management or related mining infrastructure
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary projects, including cost, schedule, scope, risk and quality control
- Strong knowledge of the design, construction, operation, monitoring and closure phases of tailings storage management facilities
- Solid understanding of geotechnical principles, stability analyses, water management and site investigation programs
- Familiarity with the regulatory frameworks and industry best practices applicable to tailings storage facilities
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage multiple priorities and work effectively with clients
- Experience preparing proposals, estimating work efforts and managing contractual requirements
- Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
- Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
- Asset: PMP certification
- Asset: bachelor's degree in business administration or civil, geological or mining engineering
