Original job description

What we do

At BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, we’re on a quest to ensure every kid in the province receives the best health care imaginable. As a fundraising organization, we inspire communities and people to support BC Children’s Hospital, along with its world-class research institute, mental health facility and rehabilitation center.

Our work makes a profound difference. From helping get the boldest research ideas off the ground to supporting the most advanced equipment, together we are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in children’s health care. This is no small task - which is why we’re looking for passionate people to join our team and help propel our work forward to power the possible.

What you’ll do

In this newly created Project Manager role, you will help strengthen our ability to successfully deliver important projects across the Foundation. Reporting to the Program Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape a growing project delivery practice while working on varied, organization-wide initiatives. You’ll partner with people across the Foundation, influence meaningful change and see how thoughtful project leadership helps our teams move our cause forward.

More specifically, you will:

  • Build clear project plans that define what needs to be achieved, who is involved and how the work will move forward.
  • Lead projects from start to finish, bringing together people from across the Foundation and keeping work moving toward agreed outcomes.
  • Keep people informed and aligned by facilitating conversations, supporting decisions and communicating progress throughout the project.
  • Navigate challenges as they arise, identifying risks and roadblocks early and working with the right people to resolve them.
  • Support successful implementation by tracking progress, helping teams adapt to change and capturing lessons that strengthen future projects.

What you’ll bring

We understand that no single candidate will perfectly meet all the qualifications outlined for this job posting. The following highlights the qualifications we consider important:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, project management, information systems or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, along with formal project management training; a PMP or CAPM designation is considered an asset.
  • At least five years of project management experience, with demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional projects from planning through implementation.
  • Strong project management knowledge and skills, with the ability to create clear plans, keep work moving and guide projects toward successful outcomes.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with an ability to build trust, bring different perspectives together and effectively guide teams without formal authority.
  • Sound judgement and problem-solving skills, including the ability to navigate ambiguity, competing priorities and complex challenges.
  • Experience with Asana is strongly preferred. Experience in a non-profit or complex stakeholder environment, and experience with technical, systems or process implementation projects are considered assets.

What you can expect

Ensuring that kids receive the best health care imaginable is no small task, therefore taking care of our team is a top priority. To help you power the possible and to support you in your health, well-being, and career growth, in additional to competitive compensation, we offer perks like a hybrid work environment (minimum of two days per week in office) and nine-day fortnight schedule, generous vacation, topnotch health and dental benefits, a health care spending account, a defined benefit pension plan, and a commitment to professional development.

The hiring range for this position is between $91,100 to $101,800. At BCCHF, we are committed to ensuring that compensation is fair and equitable. Your placement in the salary range will be determined by your experience, relevant skills, and qualifications as they relate to this role.

Please note that all team members of BCCHF are required to complete vulnerable sector criminal record check as a condition of employment.
