Position Summary

The Data team is a small dedicated group that oversees the daily operations behind the data management including (ingesting, cleaning, maintenance) and deployment of all research related data feeding the work of 50+ researchers.

As a Data Associate, you'll play a key role in keeping our data infrastructure accurate, current, and reliable. This is a Part-Time opportunity with specified hours between 8am -12pm daily, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine data validation and automated update log checks across research databases (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, Macrobond, CEIC) to catch errors, gaps, or inconsistencies.
Download, update, and organize time series and datasets.
Cross-check data updates against source files to confirm accuracy and completeness.
Flag discrepancies or anomalies to the research/data team for review.
Maintain organized records and naming conventions for data files and series.
Follow established workflows and checklists to ensure consistency across recurring tasks.
Review logs of automated jobs and handle exceptions, including manual review of datasets or contacting data vendors.
Maintain the quality and integrity of the research data by removing discontinued series from automated updates, editing metadata to reflect changes in methodology, and mapping series to alternative data sources.
Identify opportunities to automate manual time-consuming processes.
Support ad hoc data fetches from the research team as needed.

Qualifications

No prior specialized experience required; full training provided on tools and processes.
Basic competency with economics or financial concepts is a bonus but not requirement.
Comfortable working in Excel (basic formulas, sorting/filtering, data entry)
Strong attention to detail and comfort with repetitive, precision-based tasks.
Reliable and punctual, able to commit to a consistent part-time schedule.
Basic computer literacy with a willingness to learn internal tools and systems.
Professional fluency in both written and spoken English; as you will collaborate with colleagues in the US and globally.

Ces données soutiennent le travail de plus de 50 chercheurs et analystes à travers l’organisation.

À titre d’Associé(e), gestion des données, vous jouerez un rôle essentiel dans le maintien de l’exactitude, de l’actualité et de la fiabilité de notre infrastructure de données. Ce poste est offert à temps partiel et prévoit un horaire régulier de 8 h à 12 h, du lundi au vendredi.

Principales responsabilités

Effectuer des validations de données de routine ainsi que des vérifications des journaux de mises à jour automatisées au sein des bases de données de recherche (p. ex. Bloomberg, FactSet, Macrobond, CEIC) afin de repérer les erreurs, lacunes ou incohérences.
Télécharger, mettre à jour et organiser des séries chronologiques et des ensembles de données.
Comparer les mises à jour de données aux fichiers sources afin d'en assurer l'exactitude et l'exhaustivité.
Signaler toute anomalie, divergence ou incohérence à l'équipe de recherche et de gestion des données pour analyse.
Maintenir une structure de classement rigoureuse ainsi que des conventions de nommage normalisées pour les fichiers et séries de données.
Appliquer les procédures, flux de travail et listes de vérification établis afin d'assurer l'uniformité et la qualité des tâches récurrentes.
Examiner les journaux d'exécution des processus automatisés et traiter les exceptions, notamment en effectuant des validations manuelles ou en communiquant avec les fournisseurs de données lorsque requis.
Assurer la qualité et l'intégrité des données de recherche en retirant les séries discontinuées des mises à jour automatisées, en mettant à jour les métadonnées pour refléter les changements méthodologiques et en identifiant des sources de données de remplacement, au besoin.
Repérer des occasions d'automatiser les processus manuels afin d'améliorer l'efficacité opérationnelle.
Fournir un soutien ponctuel à l'équipe de recherche pour les demandes ad hoc d'extraction et d'analyse de données.

Qualifications

Aucune expérience spécialisée préalable n'est requise; une formation complète sera offerte sur les outils, systèmes et processus utilisés.
Une compréhension de base des concepts économiques ou financiers constitue un atout, sans être obligatoire.
Maîtrise fonctionnelle d'Excel, incluant l'utilisation de formules de base, le tri, le filtrage et la saisie de données.
Excellente attention aux détails et aisance à effectuer des tâches répétitives nécessitant un haut niveau de précision.
Fiabilité, ponctualité et capacité à respecter un horaire de travail à temps partiel régulier.
Bonne maîtrise des outils informatiques et volonté d'apprendre de nouveaux systèmes et applications internes.
Excellente maîtrise de l'anglais, tant à l'oral qu'à l'écrit, puisque le poste requiert une collaboration régulière avec des collègues aux États-Unis et à l'international.
