Why BCAA?

Feel proud of what you do and help shape the future of BC at a BC Top Employer. We’re driven by purpose – delivering peace of mind to one in three BC households with insurance, roadside assistance, auto repair, Evo Car Share and Evolve E-Bike Share. With a long history of keeping roads safe and giving back in ways that build stronger communities, we offer a wide variety of meaningful, rewarding careers that move BC forward.

We are currently hiring an Assistant Manager, Auto Service Centre to join our Automotive team. In this role, you will partner with the Service Manager to lead a high-performing team, deliver exceptional customer experiences, support operational excellence, and help drive business performance. You'll play a key role in building team engagement, maintaining a strong safety culture, and ensuring BCAA continues to be the most trusted organization in automotive repair.

Who You Are

You’re a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced automotive environment. You enjoy coaching and developing people, creating exceptional customer experiences, and helping teams achieve business goals.

You bring a customer-first mindset, strong leadership skills, and the ability to balance operational priorities while supporting both team members and customers. You’re energized by building high-performing teams, driving results, and creating a safe, engaging workplace where people can do their best work.

What You'll Do

Partner with the Service Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of an Auto Service Centre.
Coach, develop, and motivate a high-performing team while fostering an engaged and positive workplace culture.
Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, succession planning, and employee development initiatives.
Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with health and safety policies, leading safety meetings, and promoting safe work practices.
Deliver an exceptional customer experience by managing workflow, addressing customer concerns, supporting service standards, and resolving escalations.
Help drive achievement of revenue, productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction targets.
Support execution of business plans, budgets, marketing initiatives, and operational priorities.
Ensure compliance with operational, audit, cash handling, and risk management requirements.
Identify opportunities to strengthen BCAA's presence in the community and support corporate and local initiatives.
Step into a Service Advisor role when required by greeting customers, preparing estimates, scheduling appointments, recommending repairs and maintenance, and coordinating communication between customers and technicians.
Maintain knowledge of automotive industry trends, products, systems, and BCAA services to support both team and customer success.

What You'll Bring

High school diploma and/or post-secondary education in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2-3 years of experience in the automotive industry.
2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in an automotive environment.
Proven ability to lead teams and achieve sales, productivity, and customer experience goals.
Strong coaching, performance management, and team development skills.
Excellent customer service, relationship-building, and conflict resolution abilities.
Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
A commitment to safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

The salary range for this position is $78,500 to $83,000 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 12.5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 20%.

What we offer:

The chance to make a difference every day in the lives of British Columbians, BCAA Members and our communities.
Career and personal development to help you grow and reach your goals.
Incentives that recognize team and individual sales and performance.
Flexible benefits to support your health and lifestyle, and wellness dollars* to keep your body, mind and soul thriving.
A competitive rewards package including salary performance bonus programs, pension plan*, and more to help build your personal wealth.

Meaningful, rewarding work for a BC Top Employer known for putting people first and constantly building a better workplace for all our team members.
