POSTING CLOSE DATE: November 29, 2026

THE OPPORTUNITY

Join BCI’s Private Markets Risk (PMR) team as a Senior Associate or Principal (level to be determined by the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications), reporting to the Senior Director, Private Markets Risk.

You will act as a key Investment Risk (IR) point of contact for select BCI private market asset classes, delivering independent Risk Assessments, grounded in sound judgment and professional skepticism, to inform Management Investment Committee decisions during pre-investment underwriting. You will advise the asset classes on due diligence, investment risk, planning, new strategies, strategy updates and asset-level portfolio composition, leveraging IR and proprietary AI-enabled tools. You and the PMR team will also assist the Senior Vice President, Investment Risk in monitoring and managing total investment risk across the portfolios, including direct / co-invest and fund-type investments.

As a strategic partner, you will help advance the growth of the private market portfolios over multi-year investment cycles while fostering a culture of risk management at BCI.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

The Investment Strategy & Risk (ISR) department plays a key role in setting, implementing and monitoring our clients’ long-term strategies. This is accomplished by working with clients, management and asset classes to define the optimal path to achieve clients’ outcomes and to enable BCI’s investment structures and processes necessary to fulfill these outcomes. ISR consists of five branches: Strategic Asset Allocation, Total Fund Management, Investment Risk, Growth & Investment Solutions and Client Partnerships.

The PMR team sits within IR and provides independent investment risk oversight and advisory support on BCI’s private market asset classes. Day to day, you will work closely with the asset class and investment teams, other IR teams, other ISR branches, senior management and committees.

WHAT YOU BRING

Must have:

  • 5+ (Senior Associate) / 7+ (Principal) years’ experience in the investment / M&A environment, e.g., private equity, investment banking, transaction advisory, management consulting or corporate finance.
  • Experience in due diligence and analyzing risk in market, commercial, financial, tax, legal and idiosyncratic business matters, including applying stress testing and sensitivity analysis
  • Strong research, financial modeling, analytical and valuation skills for private assets
  • Capability to use AI tools effectively and responsibly, including applying human critical thinking and judgment, and verifying AI outputs against sources
  • Strong business / commercial acumen, corporate operational and governance knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain risk concepts in plain language to senior audiences, with a proven ability to build lasting, trust-based relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Adaptable team player with strong project management and problem-solving skills, able to work under tight time pressure
  • Proven ability to analyze complex investment strategies, confidently yet constructively challenge investment theses and risk-return assumptions and contribute to risk-mitigating solutions
  • Supervisory experience (Principal)

Preferred:

  • Direct working experience with private market asset classes
  • Institutional investment, pension fund or asset management experience
  • CFA, FRM or CPA designation or master's degree in business / economics or MBA

  • Synthesize key findings and analysis from pre-investment procedures in standardized Risk Assessments to inform decision-making by the Executive Vice President, Investment Strategy & Risk and the Management Investment Committee:
    • Provide risk feedback on screening, deal alert and investment memorandums
    • Assess strategic fit; identify key risk exposures and mitigation strategies; highlight total portfolio implications; challenge investment theses and risk-return assumptions
    • Review and challenge value creation plans, financial projection assumptions and deal models
  • When applicable, coordinate input from other IR teams, other ISR branches, etc.
