POSITION OVERVIEW
BDC is the only bank dedicated exclusively to Canadian entrepreneurs. In this role, you will support Account Managers across Canada by coordinating administrative and client service activities. You will work in a structured, process-driven environment where accuracy, organization, and timely service contribute directly to the success of Canadian businesses. CHALLENGES TO BE MET
- Manage and prioritize requests within a queue-based system while meeting established service level standards.
- Provide administrative support and client service support to Account Managers across Canada.
- Process client and business requests accurately, efficiently, and consistently.
- Proactively contact clients to clarify information, resolve issues, and advance requests.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation and complete required follow-ups.
- Ensure written and verbal communications comply with established policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Apply judgment when interpreting guidelines and determining appropriate actions.
- Adapt to changes in processes, procedures, technologies, and digital tools.
- Manage a high volume of work, multiple priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Contribute to BDC's mission of supporting the growth of small and medium-sized businesses across Canada.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Fluency in French and English, written and spoken.
- Education: College diploma in Office Administration OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Administrative support
- Client support or client service
- Coordination
- Related administrative or client service work
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Outlook
- Ability to learn and use new technologies and digital tools, including Microsoft Copilot or similar AI-enabled tools.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage high volumes of work and multiple competing priorities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Ability to work within structured processes and follow established procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a financial institution, bank, or financial services environment.
- Knowledge of financing operations, lending processes, or related financial services activities.
- Experience providing administrative or client support to Account Managers, Relationship Managers, or similar client-facing business teams.
- Experience working in a queue-based system, service-request management system, or similar high-volume request environment.
