POSITION OVERVIEW

The Client Partner, BDC Advisory Services, conducts business development activities, assesses client needs and proposes consulting projects aimed at improving or ensuring the competitiveness of Canadian businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The incumbent of this position works closely with the execution teams of each pillar as well as with Financing to ensure the proper execution of consulting projects, client satisfaction and the achievement of sales objectives.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

Play a key role within BDC Advisory Services and conduct business development activities to maintain and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities to achieve sales objectives.
Participate in the preparation and execution of the region's business development plan.
Adopt a value-added sales or commercial approach by conducting research and compiling strategic information on customers, their business lines, economic and market trends.
Through strategic questions, discussions and diagnostic tools, assess and prioritize clients' business requirements to increase their competitiveness. Facilitate assignments to appropriate pillars based on client needs.
Ensure that service offerings are well-designed and unambiguous, and that the stated scope of work and deliverables reflect priorities. Act as a resource person for BDC Advisory Services and manage the client experience. Work closely with the delivery teams of each pillar and with Financing to respond to client inquiries and address complaints.
Follow up on project deliverables based on service offerings to ensure client satisfaction. In collaboration with the execution team, evaluate the project and measure client satisfaction once the project is completed.
Conducts ongoing business intelligence activities to keep abreast of the evolving needs and issues of businesses in the region, and communicates information to the Vice President, Business Development – Consulting.
Leverage business assets and cross-functional capabilities to create maximum value for the client and create new opportunities for BDC.
Stay up-to-date on BDC's systems, technology environment, policies, procedures and ISO standards, as well as BDC Advisory Services' offerings and solutions.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Bachelor's degree in commerce, business administration or a related discipline
5 years of experience in business development and client program portfolio management with an established consulting firm, or experience in business development, sales or management with a company
Experience in the financial services industry or with SMEs is an asset
Experience in many sectors of activity is an asset
Proven skills in achieving revenue goals
Business acumen

Excellent communication and negotiation skills
