Original job description

Putting people first, every day

BDO is a firm built on a foundation of positive relationships with our people and our clients. Each day, our professionals provide exceptional service, helping clients with advice and insight they can trust. In turn, we offer an award-winning environment that fosters a people-first culture with a high priority on your personal and professional growth.

Your Opportunity

Join BDO’s fast-growing  Digital, Data & AI Strategy & Transformation practice and help Canadian organizations unlock the power of digital/data/AI technologies to drive scale, improve performance, get access to insights, gain competitive advantage and become future-ready. Our team advises and partners with clients to develop strategies, design future-ready operating models, ensure effective planning, drive organizational change, and implement practical solutions centered around digital, data, and AI solutions. Our ambition is “end-to-end” enablement, from the initial stage of strategy development to effective design of the transformation, to the successful adoption of new digital, data & AI capabilities. This role is for an existing vacancy.

This is a new role and we’re looking for curious, business-first, technology-aware entrepreneurial advisors who are passionate about solving business problems - professionals who enjoy engaging with business and technology leaders to help shape the future of their organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of end-to-end digital, data & AI strategy and transformation engagements
Lead project delivery and ensure high-quality outcomes within budget and timeline
Drive client relationship development and identify follow-on opportunities for growth
Support or lead proposal development and pitch activities
Advise senior client stakeholders on opportunity areas, target operating models, and execution paths
Facilitate strategic discovery sessions, synthesizing business, technology, and data insights
Build actionable transformation roadmaps, business cases, and implementation plans
Analyze current-state capabilities (process, data, and technology) and provide pragmatic informed guidance
Deliver executive-level presentations and facilitate workshops with cross-functional teams
Act as a thought partner internally and externally - bringing forward new ideas, frameworks, and points of view
Mentor and coach junior colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence
Help establish “capability” & “practice” as we grow and scale our impact

Preferred Attributes

Proactive and self-driven: able to navigate ambiguity, take initiative, and deliver without micromanagement
Entrepreneurial mindset: thrives in a fast-growth environment and seeks leadership opportunities
Naturally curious, intellectually agile, and passionate about technology and innovation
Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to influence and collaborate across functions
Positive attitude with high emotional intelligence and adaptability
Looking for a “career” vs. just a job

Must-Have Qualifications

5+ years of mgmt. consulting or technology advisory experience (client-facing role)
Track record of delivering measurable impact (e.g., cost savings, efficiency gains, CX improvements)
Experience advising senior stakeholders (VP/C-Suite) on strategic digital, data, or AI initiatives
Demonstrated experience managing project teams, mentoring junior staff, and leading client interactions
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through ambiguity and change
Demonstrated experience in leading or contributing to full-cycle digital, data, or AI-enabled transformation programs
Deep understanding of digital strategy principles, data and analytics capabilities, and AI applications in business
Strong business process analysis and stakeholder engagement capabilities across technical and non-technical teams
Experience with roadmap and business case development, solution optioning, and operating model design
Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous, client-driven environments
Broad awareness of emerging technologies, market trends, and digital business models

Nice-to-Have Experience

Industry experience in Financial Services, Private Equity, Real Estate, Manufacturing, or Distribution
Bilingual in English and French
Familiarity with frameworks such as Design Thinking, Agile, TOGAF, Lean Six Sigma
Certifications in data, cloud, AI/ML, or related technologies
Exposure to platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday, Snowflake, AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
Familiarity with tools such as Power BI, Tableau or AI/ML platforms (DataRobot, Azure ML, etc)

Why Join BDO’s Digital & AI Advisory Practice?

Shape the future: Work with a collaborative team of experts on meaningful, high-impact transformation programs
Accelerate your career: Exposure to diverse clients, leadership opportunities, and rapid advancement potential
Keep learning: Access to cutting-edge tools, training, and knowledge-sharing in one of BDO’s fastest-growing teams
Make your mark: Contribute directly to practice growth, innovation, and thought leadership

The expected range of compensation for this role is $96.000 to $144,000.

Why BDO?

Our people-first approach to talent has earned us a spot among Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2026. This recognition is a milestone we’re thrilled to add to our collection of awards for both experienced and student talent experiences.

At BDO, our people experience is guided by three core pillars - Do work with genuine care, Do what matters with purpose, and Do what’s next - shaping how we support our people, serve our clients, and grow together.

Our firm is committed to providing an environment where you can be successful in the following ways:

We enable you to engage with how we change and evolve, being a key contributor to the success and growth of BDO in Canada.
We help you become a better professional within our services, industries, and markets with extensive opportunities for learning and development.
We support your achievement of personal goals outside of the office and making an impact on your community.
We foster a collaborative, inclusive environment where your ideas are valued, and you can do your best work with genuine care and purpose
We encourage innovation and forward thinking, empowering you to embrace what’s next and help shape the future of our firm

Giving back adds up: Where company meets community. BDO is actively involved in our communities by supporting local charity initiatives. We support staff with local and national events where you will be given the opportunity to contribute to your community.

Total rewards that matter: We pay for performance with competitive total cash compensation that recognizes and rewards your contribution. We provide comprehensive benefits from day one, and a flexible personal time off policy. We’re committed to supporting your overall wellbeing and provide reimbursement for wellness initiatives that fit your lifestyle.

Everyone counts: We are committed to creating a workplace where employees can participate fully, contribute meaningfully and succeed without barriers. We are dedicated to fostering a workplace defined by respect, fairness, and a true sense of belonging for everyone. We recognize and celebrate the unique experiences, identities, and perspectives that each of us bring – and that these experiences strengthen how we work together. Our commitment extends to ensuring that our application process is both inclusive and accessible. If you require accommodation to complete the application process, please contact us.

Flexibility: All BDO personnel are expected to spend some of their time working in the office, at the client site, and virtually unless accommodations or alternative work arrangements are in place.

Our model is a blended approach designed to support the flexible needs of our people, the firm and our clients. It’s about creating work experiences that meet everyone’s needs and providing flexibility to adjust when, where and how we work to meet the expectations of our role.

Code of Conduct: Our Code of Conduct sets clear standards for how we conduct business. It reflects our shared values and commitments and includes guiding principles to help us make ethical decisions and maintain trust with each other, our clients, and the public.

BDO may use artificial intelligence enabled tools to support certain aspects of the recruitment process. While these tools assist our teams, our use of AI does not replace human decision making, and all employment-related outcomes are made by BDO personnel.
