Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a QA Automation Engineer - Python/ Robot Framework to drive functional testing and automation initiatives, collaborate with agile delivery teams, and independently deliver high-quality testing outcomes. The successful candidate will bring strong hands-on experience in automation, API testing, and database testing, with the opportunity to develop expertise in the Python Robo framework through available training.

Pay rate range(CAD): $57.97/hr – $69.57/hr

Responsibilities

  • Lead functional testing activities across application releases and delivery initiatives.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions using Python.
  • Perform comprehensive API testing and database testing.
  • Identify, investigate, and document defects, clearly communicating root causes and business impact.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Use Git for code management, including code pushes, branching, and merges.
  • Collaborate with automation leads, agile pod members, developers, and other stakeholders.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while managing testing priorities and deliverables.
  • Provide clear updates on test progress, risks, issues, and outcomes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements in test coverage, automation quality, and delivery processes.

Desired Skill-Set

  • Two to three years of hands-on Python automation experience.
  • Strong practical experience with test automation and the ability to explain previous automation work clearly.
  • Hands-on experience with API testing.
  • Hands-on experience with database testing.
  • Basic experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of Git, including code pushes and merges.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of testing activities.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical experience clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with the Python Robo framework.
  • Automation experience in another programming language with the ability to transition to Python.
  • Experience working within agile delivery teams.
  • Interest in advancing expertise in automation frameworks and quality engineering practices.
  • Experience contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in software testing.
