Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Sr Analyst/Payments Automation & Analytics to support a strategic data and reporting transformation initiative. You will take ownership of complex Power BI paginated reports, interactive dashboards, data validation, mapping, and reporting remediation while partnering with business stakeholders, project leadership, technology teams, and data specialists. This opportunity offers hands-on exposure to the full business intelligence delivery lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and stakeholder sign-off, with strong potential for continued project involvement.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop complex static, pixel-perfect, and paginated reports using Power BI Report Builder.
  • Build interactive Power BI dashboards using advanced reporting functionality.
  • Implement cascading report parameters connected to source SQL queries.
  • Configure report grouping, repeating sections, page breaks, and visibility controls.
  • Create custom RDL expressions, including expressions using scope arguments.
  • Deploy and manage paginated reports in Power BI Service, including gateway assignment and configuration.
  • Optimise paginated report performance and troubleshoot reporting issues.
  • Develop advanced SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and reporting support.
  • Create advanced DAX calculations and Power Query transformations.
  • Lead reporting deliverables from requirements gathering through design, development, testing, deployment, and stakeholder approval.
  • Support the integration of information from multiple sources into a central reporting platform.
  • Prepare and maintain data mapping documentation covering transformation logic, source-to-target relationships, calculations, and reporting definitions.
  • Review data models and transformation requirements to ensure reporting solutions align with documented specifications.
  • Validate transformation mappings and reporting outputs using SQL.
  • Maintain data quality, integrity, accuracy, and consistency across reporting deliverables.
  • Investigate data discrepancies and resolve reporting issues in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with data modelling and ETL teams while supporting reporting requirements without directly developing data models or ETL pipelines.

Desired Skill-Set

  • Seven to ten years of hands-on business intelligence development experience, including responsibility for complex enterprise reporting solutions.
  • Advanced Power BI development experience, including interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Advanced Power BI Report Builder and paginated reporting experience.
  • Expertise with complex parameters, grouping, page breaks, visibility rules, RDL expressions, scope arguments, and pixel-perfect formatting.
  • Advanced SQL skills covering complex queries, data extraction, transformation validation, reconciliation, troubleshooting, and reporting.
  • Advanced DAX and Power Query experience.
  • Experience deploying and managing reports in Power BI Service, including gateway configuration and performance troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of data models, ETL concepts, and data transformation logic.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail when developing reports and validating data.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to translate business reporting requirements into technical reporting solutions.
  • Strong documentation skills, particularly for data mappings, transformation rules, and reporting definitions.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
  • Collaborative approach when working with business stakeholders, project managers, technology partners, and data teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale data or reporting transformation initiatives.
  • Experience integrating reporting data from multiple source systems.
  • Experience working with centralised reporting or analytical data platforms.
  • Experience in financial services or another highly governed enterprise environment.
  • Familiarity with data governance, controls, reconciliation, and reporting-quality practices.
  • Experience working closely with separate data-modelling and ETL development teams.
