Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Software Developer 3 - Java to join a collaborative Agile delivery pod supporting a large-scale platform modernization initiative. You will contribute to the development, testing, documentation, and support of backend or full-stack solutions that enable secure data sharing, real-time events, customer consent, and digital experiences. This one-year contract offers exposure to cutting-edge technologies, meaningful enterprise-scale projects, and opportunities to collaborate with experienced engineering, quality, business, and product professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
  • Develop, test, and support Java code or configuration changes in accordance with established SDLC and quality standards.
  • Deliver scoped features, enhancements, and automation aligned with platform priorities.
  • Collaborate with engineers, business systems analysts, quality engineering, and product partners to deliver backlog items from development through implementation.
  • Create and maintain technical and operational documentation, including architecture notes, runbooks, onboarding materials, and API documentation.
  • Improve platform quality and reliability through testing, automation, monitoring, and technical debt reduction.
  • Investigate and resolve development or production issues while maintaining attention to performance, stability, and maintainability.
  • Contribute to delivery timelines by producing high-quality work and meeting agreed-upon milestones.
  • Participate in knowledge transfer and onboarding activities to support effective integration with existing applications and processes.

Desired Skill-Set

  • 5 or more years of experience developing with Java.
  • 5 or more years of backend or full-stack development experience.
  • Experience working with Jira and Confluence.
  • Practical experience working in an Agile delivery environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Self-motivated, well organized, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Angular.
  • Experience with NoSQL or Cosmos DB.
  • Experience within banking or financial services.
  • Exposure to enterprise-scale platform modernization initiatives.
