Subway Sandwich Artist

JOB SUMMARY

The Subway Sandwich Artist is responsible for providing friendly and efficient customer service while preparing and serving food in accordance with established Subway operational, food safety, and sanitation standards. The position supports the daily operation of the restaurant by preparing customer orders, maintaining cleanliness, stocking supplies, and creating a professional and welcoming environment.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Subway Sandwich Artist prepares food and customer orders, operates the point-of-sale system, maintains food and supply inventory within assigned work areas, and ensures the restaurant remains clean, organized, and properly stocked. The position works closely with the Subway Manager and other team members to provide consistent customer service and maintain established food preparation, storage, handling, hygiene, and sanitation standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Food Preparation and Customer Service

• Greet customers and provide professional and respectful service.
• Prepare sandwiches, wraps, salads, and other menu items according to customer orders and established procedures.
• Ensure food is prepared, handled, and served safely.
• Respond appropriately to customer questions and concerns.
• Operate the point-of-sale system and process customer transactions as required.

Food Safety and Cleanliness

• Follow all required food safety, sanitation, hygiene, and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Maintain clean and sanitary food preparation and service areas.
• Clean equipment, counters, tables, and other assigned restaurant areas.
• Ensure food is properly stored, handled, and rotated.
• Report food safety, equipment, or workplace hazards to the Subway Manager.

Stocking and Restaurant Operations

• Stock food, beverages, packaging, and restaurant supplies.
• Monitor assigned stock levels and advise the Subway Manager when supplies are running low.
• Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries as required.
• Help maintain an organized and fully stocked restaurant.
• Follow opening and closing procedures as assigned.

General Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with the Subway Manager and other employees.
• Follow Bearspaw First Nation policies and applicable Subway operational requirements.
• Attend required workplace and food safety training.
• Maintain professional conduct when interacting with customers, employees, vendors, and community members.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Subway Manager.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous restaurant, food service, retail, or customer service experience is considered an asset.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and team members.
• Reliable, responsible, and punctual.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and food quality.
