Original job description

Beedie Capital is a multi-strategy direct investment platform that manages the alternative investments of Beedie, one of the most successful real estate developers in Western Canada. Focusing primarily on the Metals & Mining and Technology sectors, we combine the strategic capabilities of an institutional investment platform with the entrepreneurial mindset of a privately owned business.

We are a dynamic, fast-scaling platform that has successfully deployed over $1 billion in capital in the last 5 years and are actively seeking top-tier candidates to join our platform and help foster our next phase of growth.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Summer Analyst to join our team of 15 in our Vancouver office during the summer of 2027.

In this role, you will gain exposure to all aspects of the deal process including sourcing, reviewing, executing, and monitoring investments across direct private credit, structured capital, private equity, and fund investments. Our entrepreneurial environment provides meaningful exposure to senior team members, portfolio companies, and the broader private capital ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the sourcing and qualification of investment opportunities

  • Support the execution of financial models to assist in investment evaluation, structuring, and financing

  • Participate in calls with senior management of prospective companies to further diligence efforts

  • Assist in managing our deal pipeline through our CRM platform (HubSpot)

  • Monitor and analyze ongoing financial and operational performance of portfolio investments

  • Prepare research and analysis in support of portfolio investments

  • Support day-to-day business development initiatives to drive deal flow opportunities

  • Conduct sector and industry analyses and stay abreast of relevant capital markets activity

Experience and Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business, or other related fields

  • Exceptional academic standing

  • Demonstrated interest in alternative investments (including private equity and credit) and investing, evidenced through participation in extracurriculars or previous internships

  • Strong ability to synthesize large amounts of data into succinct written and verbal communication

  • Understanding of valuation methodology, cash flow forecasts, and balance sheet structuring

  • Ability to multitask across a variety of responsibilities and effectively prioritize when needed

  • Highly motivated, with a proven ability to work collaboratively within a team of professionals

  • Preference will be given to students entering their final year of study following the internship (i.e., graduating by summer 2028), although this is not a requirement

Additional Information

Please include your resume and a copy of your full unofficial transcript in your application.

We thank all applicants for their interest, but only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
