Original job description
Bellwoods Brewery is looking for a Packaging Assistant to join our team, with a primary focus on keg washing, filing and general keg management. This position is based out of our 20 Hafis Rd. location, which is a production brewery, warehouse and packaging facility.
This is an entry-level position and a great opportunity for anyone looking to start a career in the brewing industry. The most important qualities we look for are that you have a positive attitude, enjoy working in a team, and have a great work ethic. It also doesn’t hurt if you enjoy working in a fast paced and hands-on environment, are comfortable troubleshooting mechanical issues, take repetition in stride, and are excited about the creative nature of craft beer. This is a full-time role requiring flexible availability from Monday through Saturday.
Your day-to-day will be centred around keg washing and filling, along with general warehouse duties to organize, move, and store kegs and packaging materials as needed. You will also remain hands-on with the rest of the packaging team to can, bottle, and generally clean. This role requires the ability to lift up to 65kgs and work on your feet for extended periods. There is room for you to learn in this position and it can be adapted to a variety of skill levels. While experience in packaging and working in a brewery would be ideal, if you don’t have experience, but feel you make up for it in enthusiasm and similar skills, we’d love to hear from you.
If you are interested in this position and feel you meet these requirements, please submit a resume and cover letter by email to work@bellwoodsbrewery.com.
Compensation: $22.00/hour
At Bellwoods Brewery we are invested in creating a work atmosphere where diversity and inclusion are prioritized. We strive to make our staff feel understood, respected, and supported - and we believe that every industry benefits from a commitment to these values. We encourage job applications from diverse communities, those with intersectional identities, and do not discriminate based on gender, religion, race, disability, sexual orientation, age, or any other status. If you require accommodation or have accessibility needs, please indicate this in your application, and we will ensure that arrangements are made.
