Senior BSA / Data Migration Specialist

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst / Data Migration Specialist to support data transformation and migration initiatives across Salesforce and surrounding data ecosystems, including Snowflake, IBM DataStage, Tableau, and legacy applications.

The ideal candidate will combine strong business analysis, data migration, SQL, data mapping, and stakeholder management skills and will be responsible for translating business requirements into clear data migration and transformation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand business processes, data requirements, reporting needs, and downstream impacts.
• Lead requirements gathering and facilitate discussions between business, technology, data, architecture, development, and QA teams.
• Analyze source and target systems, including data structures, relationships, dependencies, and constraints.
• Define and document source-to-target data mappings, business rules, transformation logic, and migration requirements.
• Perform data profiling and analysis using SQL and related tools.
• Identify data quality issues, duplicates, anomalies, gaps, and migration risks and support remediation activities.
• Work closely with Data Engineers and ETL teams to support data transformation and migration activities.
• Support data reconciliation and validation to ensure migrated data is complete and accurate.
• Define business acceptance criteria and support SIT, UAT, and post-migration validation.
• Assess downstream impacts of migrated data, particularly for reporting and Tableau analytics.
• Communicate complex data issues and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, Data Migration Specialist, or similar role.
• Strong experience with end-to-end data migration or system conversion projects.
• Strong requirements elicitation and stakeholder management experience.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Source-to-target mapping
• Data transformation
• Data profiling
• Data cleansing
• Data reconciliation
• Data validation
• Strong SQL and data analysis skills.
• Experience working with Salesforce, Snowflake, IBM DataStage, or comparable ETL/data integration platforms.
• Understanding of reporting and downstream data dependencies.
• Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to identify data constraints, dependencies, risks, and business impacts.

• Experience with Tableau and reporting/analytics environments.
• Salesforce data migration experience.

• Financial Services / Banking experience.
• Experience working on large enterprise transformation or modernization programs.

Important Candidate Requirement

This role requires genuine hands-on data migration / system conversion experience. Candidates with only traditional Business Analyst experience and no practical experience with data mapping, migration, SQL, reconciliation, and validation may not be suitable.
