Our client, a provincial organization supporting affordable housing and housing services across British Columbia, is seeking an experienced AI Solutions Consultant for a 6-month hybrid contract, with the possibility of extension. The AI Solutions Consultant will work closely with business and technology leadership to identify, assess, prioritize, and implement practical AI solutions that address business challenges and deliver measurable value.
This is a hands-on consulting and solution delivery role focused on translating business needs into AI-enabled micro-solutions and scalable enterprise capabilities. The successful candidate will assess opportunities for AI adoption and lead the design, planning, testing, and implementation of approved solutions using existing enterprise tools and platforms, including Microsoft 365 Copilot and other Microsoft AI technologies.
The consultant will also contribute to the organization's broader AI strategy by developing business cases and roadmaps, maintaining a prioritized AI opportunities backlog, assessing organizational AI readiness, and providing recommendations related to enterprise AI platforms, architecture, governance, and supporting capabilities.
Success in this role requires the ability to bridge business and technology - combining strong consulting, stakeholder engagement, and business analysis capabilities with practical knowledge of Generative AI, AI agents and agentic workflows, Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, intelligent automation, LLMs, and prompt engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with business leadership, technology leadership, and program managers to identify business challenges that could be addressed through AI-enabled solutions
- Identify, assess, and prioritize high-value opportunities for both enterprise-wide AI capabilities and targeted micro-solutions
- Analyze AI intake requests, business challenges, emerging trends, and recurring use cases to identify opportunities with potential for broader adoption
- Maintain and prioritize an AI opportunities backlog based on strategic alignment, feasibility, business value, risk, and organizational readiness
- Evaluate business challenges and recommend appropriate AI products, platforms, technologies, and implementation approaches
- Lead the design, development, testing, and implementation of approved AI-based micro-solutions and pilots
- Leverage existing enterprise technologies, including Microsoft 365 Copilot, to develop practical solutions addressing specific business needs
- Define solution scope, objectives, requirements, success criteria, implementation approaches, and delivery plans
- Assess the feasibility, risks, benefits, costs, organizational impacts, and implementation considerations associated with proposed AI initiatives
- Develop comprehensive business cases outlining expected outcomes, benefits, costs, risks, ROI, success measures, and anticipated value realization
- Measure solution performance against defined success metrics and recommend opportunities for optimization, scaling, or integration into broader enterprise solutions
- Develop roadmaps for enterprise-wide AI initiatives aligned with organizational technology strategy and priorities
- Conduct AI readiness assessments, including evaluation of data quality, governance, organizational preparedness, privacy, security, and implementation considerations
- Research and evaluate emerging AI technologies, products, platforms, use cases, and industry practices
- Contribute to recommendations for an enterprise AI platform and architecture, including the governance and supporting capabilities required to securely develop, deploy, manage, and scale AI solutions
- Evaluate technologies such as Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI, AI agents, Generative AI, intelligent automation, and other cloud-based AI platforms
- Apply appropriate standards, methodologies, quality practices, and responsible AI principles throughout solution delivery
- Prepare clear documentation, recommendations, presentations, and decision-support materials for business and technology leadership
- Manage stakeholder expectations, competing priorities, and delivery timelines across multiple AI opportunities
- Document implemented solutions and provide knowledge transfer to sustainment teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience may also be considered
- 5+ years of experience in solutions delivery, consulting, business analysis, product management, digital transformation, technology strategy, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience identifying, assessing, and implementing technology solutions that deliver measurable business value
- Practical knowledge of evaluating AI use cases, implementation feasibility, solution approaches, and value realization
- Strong knowledge of modern AI technologies and concepts, including Generative AI, AI agents and agentic workflows, AI assistants, machine learning, intelligent automation, Large Language Models (LLMs), and prompt engineering
- Understanding of Microsoft 365 Copilot, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI, or comparable enterprise and cloud-based AI platforms
- Understanding of enterprise AI platforms, architecture, implementation approaches, and scalability considerations
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality, privacy, security, and responsible AI principles
- Experience developing business cases, including assessment of benefits, costs, risks, ROI, success measures, and organizational impacts
- Knowledge of business process improvement, service design, and digital transformation practices
- Ability to translate complex business challenges into practical technology and AI opportunities
- Strong stakeholder relationship management and influencing skills, with the ability to work across executive leadership, business units, and technology teams
- Strong research, analytical, problem-solving, and judgment skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and recommendations to business audiences
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities, deliverables, and deadlines
- Ability to quickly learn and apply emerging technical and business concepts
- Experience within the public sector, housing sector, regulated industries, or other complex enterprise environments is considered an asset
- Ability to work within a hybrid arrangement in the Greater Vancouver area, including onsite meetings approximately every two weeks and additional in-person meetings as required
