PR Manager

Summary of Role

We’re seeking a strategic and connected PR Manager to lead Benefit Canada’s PR, media and influencer strategy. In this role, you’ll develop and execute innovative, on-brand initiatives that strengthen brand desirability, generate high-quality earned media and creator coverage, and drive incremental brand awareness across all channels. You’ll cultivate meaningful relationships with Canada’s leading beauty editors, influencers, creators, agents and talent managers, ensuring Benefit Cosmetics remains relevant.

This is a 12-month contract role based in Toronto, with two days in the office per week.

What You’ll Do:

PR Strategy & Execution

In partnership with the Marketing Director, lead the Canadian PR, media and influencer strategy and calendar, translating Benefit’s global brand DNA and business priorities into impactful local action plans
Partner closely with U.S. and Global teams to localize and execute key programs, strengthen brand loyalty and measure performance through monthly reporting and analytics
Lead PR planning and execution for major product launches, always-on brand storytelling and key cultural moments
Support Benefit’s Bold is Beautiful program and charity partners
Develop and oversee compelling press releases, media materials, key messages and marketing copy that bring Benefit’s unique tone of voice to life
Monitor beauty, cultural and social media trends, competitor activity and emerging talent to identify relevant opportunities for the brand

Media & Influencer Relations

Leverage and expand an established network of top-tier Canadian beauty editors, influencers, creators, agents and talent managers to secure high-quality editorial coverage, organic advocacy and strategic brand partnerships
Proactively pitch compelling brand and product stories, across print, digital and social media channels
Lead influencer and creator relations from identification and outreach through briefing, gifting, content development, partnership negotiation and ongoing relationship management
Oversee product seeding and PR mailers, ensuring thoughtful targeting, strong brand storytelling and measurable impact
Conceptualize and execute memorable press and influencer events, desk sides, brand experiences and launch moments that bring Benefit’s DNA to life
Manage editorial tracking and media-monitoring services, evaluate earned media and creator performance, and use insights to strengthen future programs and keep Benefit top of mind

Budget & Financial Management:

Manager PR budgets monthly P&L statements & paid partnerships
Oversee PR product & TOA forecasting, ordering & inventory while negotiating costs to maximize spend

Established relationships with Canadian beauty editors, journalists, influencers, creators, talent managers and agencies, with a proven ability to translate those relationships into meaningful earned coverage and brand advocacy
Organized multi-tasker with proven track record of achieving results, driving projects & problem solving efficiently
Proficient in Microsoft Suite
Strong analytical skills to measure coverage, engagement, reach and overall campaign performance
Agency experience is an asset
Ability to travel as required

Compensation: The expected annual salary for this position is $70,000 - $80,000.
