Bennett Gastle PC is looking for a litigation associate with 3 to 5+ years of civil litigation experience to join our boutique litigation practice.
The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload independently and with other legal professionals at the firm. The candidate’s core practice will focus on insurance defence (long-term disability claims, life insurance claims, occupiers’ liability disputes), employment matters, commercial litigation, and creditor-debtor disputes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage a portfolio of litigation files from initial intake through pleadings, discovery, motions, mediation, and trial.
- Draft opinions, pleadings, motion materials and facta.
- Conduct discoveries, negotiate settlements, and advocate for clients in court and administrative tribunals.
- Maintain direct client communication and provide strategic counsel.
Qualifications:
- Member in good standing with the Law Society.
- 3 to 5+ years civil litigation experience.
- Written advocacy, legal research, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to independently run files while collaborating with a close-knit team.
- Demonstrate practical judgment, strong interpersonal skills and work as a team player.

Responsibilities
