Project Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a large-scale, enterprise-wide payment processing transformation initiative. The project involves transitioning debit and credit card payment processing services to a new payment services platform across multiple business areas and programs.
The initiative includes both in-person/card-present and online/card-not-present payment solutions, impacting approximately 480 merchant accounts, 460 POS terminals, 1,000 PIN pads, and 50 e-commerce/web applications.
The Project Manager will lead and coordinate the transition, ensuring all payment processing activities are successfully migrated by the required implementation deadline. The role will also manage dependencies with other concurrent enterprise financial technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and manage project governance, resources, project plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and stakeholder communications.
- Coordinate implementation activities across multiple business units, technology teams, vendors, and external stakeholders.
- Identify, assess, monitor, and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests.
- Coordinate merchant and financial setup, payment hardware migration, POS deployment and testing, and related implementation activities.
- Oversee the migration of approximately 50 web/e-commerce applications and third-party integrations to the new payment gateway.
- Coordinate application testing, certification, implementation activities, and production cutover.
- Support operational readiness activities, including user access, training, reporting, documentation, chargeback/retrieval processes, and ongoing support procedures.
- Work closely with security and compliance teams to incorporate requirements needed for upcoming PCI compliance/audit activities.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, resources, deliverables, and interdependencies while maintaining alignment with overall project objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of Project Manager experience within the last 7 years, covering areas such as integration, scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, communications, risk, and/or procurement management.
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, Science, or another technology-related discipline. Relevant professional accounting/management certifications may also be considered.
- Strong proficiency with project management tools, including Microsoft Project.
- Demonstrated experience delivering at least 3 projects of 8 months or longer, involving multiple stakeholder groups with diverse priorities.
- 3+ years of experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience developing feasibility studies, business cases, and executive-level funding or governance submissions.
- Experience preparing project charters, master project plans, risk assessments, and risk management plans.
- Experience coordinating internal resources, external contractors, and vendors.
- Experience managing change requests and budget requests, including cost estimates, schedules, resources, deliverables, and project interdependencies
