Job Title: Senior Data Scientist – Generative AI & Machine Learning
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Toronto
Ideal Rate: $80- $85 (Based on Experience)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week, including Thursday
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience developing and implementing data science solutions.
- Strong hands-on Python programming skills for machine learning and GenAI applications.
- Strong knowledge of supervised and unsupervised machine learning, model training, evaluation, and optimization.
- Experience writing complex SQL and PySpark queries.
- Experience with data transformation, manipulation, and structured and unstructured datasets.
- Understanding of APIs, microservices, and cloud-native application development.
- Hands-on experience developing GenAI applications using LLM APIs and frameworks.
- Experience building AI bots or agents with reasoning, tool-use, and integration capabilities.
- Practical experience with RAG, prompt engineering, vector databases, and embedding models.
- Knowledge of fine-tuning methodologies and conversational AI or chatbot development.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS AI/ML services, including SageMaker, Lambda, and Bedrock.
- Familiarity with AWS Glue, Glue Catalog, Glue Data Quality, and Step Functions.
- Experience with data warehousing, ETL pipelines, and big data technologies.
