Assistant Property Manager

Mississauga, ON

The Opportunity

Assistant Property Manager provides operational, financial, and tenant-focused support to the Property Manager to ensure efficient day-to-day portfolio operations, strong tenant satisfaction, and compliance with BGO standards.

This is an onsite, position located in Mississauga, Ontario.

What You Will Do

Property Management: Support day-to-day property operations, building inspections, tenant relations, service requests, and communication with senior/asset managers.
Financial Management: Assist with budgets, monthly financial statements, variance analysis, management reports, tenant billings, rent collection, and accounts receivable.
Lease Administration: Review leases and lease-related documents to ensure accurate billing, recoveries, payments, tenant information, and compliance with lease terms.
Project & Operations Management: Support tenant/Landlord construction projects, move-ins and move-outs, maintenance, repairs, life-safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
Vendor & Contract Management: Tender and administer operating contracts, maintain contract summaries, monitor service delivery, and ensure cost-effective operations.
Accounting & Systems: Process invoices, cheques, payments, and related reports using systems such as Yardi and Perceptive, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
Tenant & Administrative Support: Maintain tenant contact and insurance information, assist with tenant events and appreciation initiatives, and support insurance/appraisal tours and other administrative tasks.

Who You Are

Key Qualifications

4+ years of related experience.
General accounting knowledge.
Post-secondary business related education preferred.
Professional designation or post-secondary or undergraduate courses in property management are an asset.
Computer Skills – Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, Microsoft office, Outlook and a natural curiosity and intuitiveness for learning new applications.

Organizational/Multi-Task Skills – Ability to allocate one’s time effectively and manage tight deadlines; ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities, and adapt to new ideas and constant changes; results oriented, detail oriented and accurate.
Decision Making Skills – Able to resolve problems using facts and sound reasoning; able to achieve goals using a strategic approach; proven innovation with a willingness to manage and adapt to change
Police Clearance – A criminal verification check is required for employment
