Full job description

Marketing Content Lead

Are you the creative mind who's always spotting the next big trend, dreaming up fresh content ideas, and itching to bring them to life?!

Do you love turning everyday moments into scroll-stopping content? Are you someone who takes an idea and runs with it rather than waiting to be told what to do next?

At Big Block Construction, we're looking for a Content Lead who brings fresh ideas, creative energy, and a passion for making things happen. You'll have the freedom to experiment, take ownership, and help shape how our brand shows up in the world.

Company Summary

Big Block is the most efficient way to build housing supply in the Prairie Provinces. As a development partner, we are advancing the way multi-unit and mixed-use housing options are built in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia.

With each project, we help leaders of organizations build capacity to build adequate, affordable, accessible, suitable, and appropriate housing. We share our expertise from concept to completion – ensuring developments are sustainable for generations to come.

We're looking for a creative, energetic Content Lead who can bring our people, projects, and innovative approach to life through engaging content that captures attention and builds our brand.

Why You Belong Here

You'll thrive in this role if:

You're a Creative Thinker - You're curious, trend-savvy, and always spotting opportunities to turn everyday moments into engaging content.
You're a Natural Connector - You enjoy engaging people, capturing spontaneous moments, and bringing out the best in others.
You're an Action-Oriented Innovator - You love experimenting with fresh ideas, exploring AI and new technology, and finding smarter ways to make things happen.

Our Culture at Big Block Construction

Our values define how we show up, how we work together, and how we deliver.

RESULTS – Own the Outcome.

Win or learn... either way, we own it. We deliver at the speed of trust, run with what's ours, and step in where we add value. No hiding. No excuses.

ENERGY – Bring the Spark.

We show up charged and proactive, collaborate, and create momentum. When things get tough, we rally and keep moving. No shrinking. No islands.

DRIVE – Do the Work.

We step up to opportunity, chart the course, and set the pace with care. We find a way when it matters and pivot when it doesn't. No stalling. No burnout.

At Big Block, R.E.D. isn't words on a wall... it's how we build communities at full throttle. If you thrive on speed, ownership, and real results, you'll fit right in.

What You'll Do

As our Content Lead, you'll bring Big Block's brands, projects, and people to life through creative content.

Own Our Social Media Presence - Create engaging, trend-driven content, manage posting calendars, grow our following, and track what's working.
Bring Marketing & Sales Content to Life - Turn marketing messaging into compelling visual and written content, presentations, and promotional materials.
Create Memorable Client Experiences - Design client materials, project signage, show suite displays, and keepsakes for key milestones.
Capture the Moments That Matter - Create photo and video content for sod turnings, craning days, grand openings, and client testimonials while showcasing our people and culture.
Champion Our Brand - Maintain brand consistency, manage creative assets, and explore new technology and AI to improve creative quality and efficiency.

What We're Looking For

Skills & Experience

Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and Canva.
Knowledge of AI tools for creative production.
Strong graphic design and social media content creation skills.
Creative, organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing deadlines.
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Approximately 3 years of relevant experience preferred; demonstrated ability matters most.

Even Better If You Have

Video editing, photography, or event content experience.
Marketing, social media strategy, or digital advertising knowledge.
Experience with social media scheduling tools.
A diploma or degree in graphic design, marketing, or a related field.

What Success Looks Like

Growing our social media engagement and following.
Fresh, engaging content delivered consistently and on schedule.
Sales and client materials ready when needed.
Milestone events, testimonials, and company culture captured and shared.
Consistent branding and continuous creative improvement.

Why You'll Love Working Here

Creative Freedom: Bring ideas, experiment, and make an impact.
Real Ownership: Take projects from concept to completion.
Innovative Team: Help shape how a growing construction company tells its story.
Competitive Salary: Tailored to your experience.
Comprehensive Benefits: Health coverage and professional development opportunities.
Diversity & Inclusion: We honour individual differences and believe we're stronger together.
