Original job description

Bilingual Customer Service Representative (French and English Required)

Mississauga, Ontario | On site | Full time, permanent | $57,000 to $63,000 a year

Introduction

Our client, an established international manufacturer, is looking for a steady, reliable Bilingual Customer Service Representative to join its Mississauga office. French and English are both required. The salary is $57,000 to $63,000 a year, with health benefits and a regular Monday to Friday day schedule.

This is a role for someone who wants to settle in and stay. You'll join a small, fully bilingual team whose members have been there for many years, and you'll get to know the same business customers over time.

What You'll Do

You'll be the person customers call when they need an order placed, a date confirmed or an answer found. Your customers are mostly long-standing business customers who order again and again, plus the company's own sales representatives, who call in orders for their accounts. A typical day brings 10 to 15 calls and 20 to 30 orders. When you don't have the answer right away, you say "let me check and call you back", and you do.

Responsibilities

Receive and enter customer orders by phone, email and EDI, and sort out incomplete orders, such as a missing item code
Give customers ETAs on their orders, including orders shipping from overseas
Answer questions on products, pricing, availability and quotes
Bring in the technical team on product and parts questions, and coordinate equipment service with the repair team
Pass accounts on credit hold to the credit team, and support the sales team with product information and literature
Log complaints, inquiries and returns in Salesforce, and handle credit notes, return authorizations and warranty follow-up
Proofread French customer and marketing material when needed
Handle daily order matching, filing and other clerical tasks

Qualifications

Advanced spoken and written French and English, for daily work with customers in both languages (about 70% English and 30% French)
Customer service experience, ideally with order entry
Strong phone, computer and data entry skills, and a calm, organized way of working through a busy day
High school diploma or equivalent
Able to lift 10 to 20 lb from time to time and use stairs
Assets: SAP experience, experience in a product-based business, and troubleshooting technical equipment

Benefits

Salary of $57,000 to $63,000 a year
Medical, dental and vision benefits
2 weeks of vacation and paid sick time, prorated in your first year
Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 40 hours a week, with no evenings or weekends
A job shadowing session with the team during the hiring process, so you see the work before you decide

Why Work with Us

This is a stable, permanent role with an established global company, on a team where people stay for years. You'll have predictable hours, clear daily work and colleagues who know the job well and will help you learn it. If you're looking for a place to build a long career rather than a stepping stone, this is it.
