What You’ll Do
You will help ensure written communications are accurate, clear, consistent, and appropriate for their intended audience. Your primary responsibility will be translating English content into French, with a smaller portion of work involving French-to-English translation.
Your work will include materials related to financial services, including life insurance and investment products.
Responsibilities
- Translate documents and other materials primarily from English into French, approximately 90% of the workload
- Translate from French into English as required, approximately 10% of the workload
- Maintain meaning, tone, accuracy, and clarity across both languages
- Translate professional materials, including legal documents, marketing content, internal communications, reports, presentations, and client correspondence
- Translate software-related content when required for projects
- Review and revise translations completed internally or by external resources
- Maintain consistent terminology across documents and assignments
- Manage multiple assignments and changing priorities while meeting deadlines
- Complete additional translation-related responsibilities as required
Qualifications
• Demonstrated ability to translate professionally from English into French
- Bachelor’s degree in translation, or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, skills, and professional experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to linguistic accuracy
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while responding positively to direction and feedback
- Ability to manage several assignments in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with recognized terminology databases and language reference resources
- Knowledge of terminology related to life insurance or investment products is an asset
- Membership in a recognized professional translation organization is an asset
- Strong interpersonal and client service skills
